Synopsis: Apollo Hospitals, Bajaj Finance, and other companies witnessed a reduction in the Government of Singapore’s shareholding during Q1FY27, indicating portfolio rebalancing across healthcare, financial services, real estate, energy, and pharmaceutical sectors.

Government of Singapore is among the prominent foreign institutional investors (FIIs) in Indian equities, and changes in its shareholding are closely tracked by market participants. A reduction in stake may reflect portfolio rebalancing, profit booking, or changes in investment strategy rather than the underlying performance of a company.

During Q1FY27, the Government of Singapore pared its holdings in companies across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, contract research, financial services, real estate, retail real estate, power transmission, oil & gas, power generation, and banking, indicating selective adjustments to its investment portfolio across diverse sectors.

As per the latest shareholding data, the Government of Singapore holds stakes in 44 listed companies with a portfolio worth over Rs. 1.68 lakh crore. Its portfolio value declined by 8.2% to Rs. 1.70 lakh crore during the latest quarter. It also increased its stake in Craftsman Automation Ltd. by 0.80% in its latest transaction.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd is one of India’s largest integrated healthcare providers, operating a network of hospitals, pharmacies, diagnostic centres, and digital healthcare platforms. The company also has a strong presence in health insurance administration and telemedicine services.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 1,28,223 cr, the shares of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd closed at Rs. 8917.75 per share, up from its previous close of Rs. 8,910.10 per share. The Government of Singapore reduced its stake from 2.10% in Q4FY26 to 1.10% in Q1FY27, registering a decline of 1%.

Syngene International Ltd

Syngene International Ltd is one of the leading contract research, development, and manufacturing organisations (CRDMOs) providing integrated scientific services to global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and specialty chemical companies. It supports drug discovery, clinical development, and commercial manufacturing.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 16,728 cr, the shares of Syngene International Ltd closed at Rs. 414.40 per share, down from its previous close of Rs. 417.50 per share. The Government of Singapore reduced its stake from 2.89% in Q4FY26 to 2.13% in Q1FY27, registering a decline of 0.76%.

Godrej Properties Ltd is one of India’s leading real estate developers, engaged in the development of residential, commercial, and township projects across major cities. The company combines the Godrej Group’s brand with a strong focus on sustainable and high-quality developments.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 65,245 cr, the shares of Godrej Properties Ltd closed at Rs. 2166 per share, up from its previous close of Rs. 2,114.95 per share. The Government of Singapore reduced its stake from 2.79% in Q4FY26 to 2.03% in Q1FY27, registering a decline of 0.76%.

Bajaj Finance Ltd

Bajaj Finance Ltd is one of India’s largest non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), offering a wide range of lending products including consumer finance, personal loans, SME loans, commercial lending, and wealth management solutions through its extensive digital and physical distribution network.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 6,65,243 cr, the shares of Bajaj Finance Ltd closed at Rs. 1068.50 per share, up from its previous close of Rs. 1,063.95 per share. The Government of Singapore reduced its stake from 2.12% in Q4FY26 to 1.36% in Q1FY27, registering a decline of 0.76%.

Phoenix Mills Ltd

Phoenix Mills Ltd is a leading real estate developer focused on premium retail-led mixed-use developments. The company owns and operates some of India’s largest shopping malls while also developing commercial office spaces, hotels, and residential projects.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 75,998 cr, the shares of Phoenix Mills Ltd closed at Rs. 2125 per share, up from its previous close of Rs. 2,073.65 per share. The Government of Singapore reduced its stake from 2.15% in Q4FY26 to 1.58% in Q1FY27, registering a decline of 0.57%.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd is India’s largest electric power transmission company, responsible for developing, operating, and maintaining the country’s interstate transmission network. It also provides telecom infrastructure and consultancy services for power projects.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 2,66,601 cr, the shares of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd closed at Rs. 286.65 per share, down from its previous close of Rs. 288.80 per share. The Government of Singapore reduced its stake from 2.12% in Q4FY26 to 1.76% in Q1FY27, registering a decline of 0.36%.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) is one of India’s leading public sector oil marketing companies engaged in refining crude oil and marketing petroleum products. The company also has interests in natural gas, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and fuel retailing.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 1,38,267 cr, the shares of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd closed at Rs. 318.70 per share, up from its previous close of Rs. 317.35 per share. The Government of Singapore reduced its stake from 1.48% in Q4FY26 to 1.03% in Q1FY27, registering a decline of 0.45%.

NTPC Ltd

NTPC Ltd is India’s largest power generation company, primarily engaged in the generation and sale of electricity from thermal, hydro, solar, wind, and nuclear sources. The company is also expanding into green hydrogen, battery energy storage, and other clean energy initiatives.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 3,37,928 cr, the shares of NTPC Ltd closed at Rs. 348.50 per share, up from its previous close of Rs. 347.15 per share. The Government of Singapore reduced its stake from 2.16% in Q4FY26 to 1.98% in Q1FY27, registering a decline of 0.18%.

HDFC Bank Ltd

HDFC Bank Ltd is India’s largest private sector bank by market capitalisation, offering a comprehensive range of banking and financial services to retail, corporate, MSME, and institutional customers. Its services include deposits, loans, payments, wealth management, and digital banking solutions.

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 11,72,734 cr, the shares of HDFC Bank Ltd closed at Rs. 761.45 per share, down from its previous close of Rs. 777.65 per share. The Government of Singapore reduced its stake from 2.39% in Q4FY26 to 2.17% in Q1FY27, registering a decline of 0.22%.

Divis Laboratories Ltd

With a market capitalisation of Rs. 1,94,646 cr, the shares of Divis Laboratories Ltd closed at Rs. 7332.20 per share, up from its previous close of Rs. 7,321.95 per share. The Government of Singapore reduced its stake from 3.89% in Q4FY26 to 3.64% in Q1FY27, registering a decline of 0.25%.
