Synopsis: As enterprises worldwide accelerate cloud adoption to modernise legacy systems and improve operational efficiency, technology partners capable of executing complex digital transformations are seeing increasing demand. Against this backdrop, Infosys has achieved another milestone in its Japan business by successfully delivering a large-scale cloud migration project for a global industrial manufacturer, further strengthening its presence in one of Asia’s most strategic technology markets.
The global enterprise technology landscape is undergoing a rapid transformation as businesses migrate mission-critical applications from on-premise infrastructure to cloud-based platforms. Beyond reducing maintenance costs, cloud adoption enables greater scalability, operational resilience and faster innovation, making it a key priority for manufacturers seeking to digitise their operations. Against this backdrop, Infosys has announced the successful completion of another cloud transformation project for enterprises in Japan.
Shares of Infosys Limited were trading at Rs 1,107, up by 2.64 percent from the previous close of Rs 1,079.2. The stock opened at Rs 1,097 and reached an intraday high of Rs 1,115.8, with a day’s low of Rs 1,097. The company currently has a market capitalisation of Rs 4,48,768 crore.
Infosys Completes SAP Commerce Cloud Migration for NTN Corporation
Infosys announced that it has successfully migrated NTN Corporation’s on-premise SAP Commerce-based e-commerce platform, e-WINGS, to SAP Commerce Cloud 2211.
The project was delivered using Infosys’ SAP Commerce expertise, proprietary accelerators and Infosys Cobalt, the company’s cloud transformation platform designed to help enterprises accelerate their migration to cloud infrastructure.
NTN Corporation is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of precision equipment, including bearings and driveshafts, supplying products used across automobiles, aircraft and railway systems through operations spanning more than 200 locations in 33 countries.
Improve Reliability and Lower Costs
The migration replaces NTN’s legacy on-premise commerce platform with a cloud-based architecture, enabling the company to modernise its digital infrastructure while maintaining uninterrupted business operations throughout the transition.
According to Infosys, the transformation has automated version control, simplified platform maintenance, enhanced the reliability of day-to-day IT operations and improved cost efficiencies through cloud adoption. The new cloud-native architecture also provides greater scalability, allowing NTN to focus on innovation and future digital initiatives rather than managing legacy systems.
Unlike traditional on-premise systems that require significant infrastructure maintenance and periodic upgrades, cloud platforms allow enterprises to deploy updates more efficiently while improving system availability and operational flexibility.
Infosys’ Japan Business
Beyond the technology deployment itself, the engagement reinforces Infosys’ growing presence in Japan, a market where enterprises are increasingly investing in digital transformation and cloud modernisation.
The company said that the successful delivery of the programme is evidence of its ability to deliver complex, enterprise-scale digital transformation programmes with minimal disruption to the business.
With the help of Infosys Cobalt, the company has strengthened its cloud consulting and implementation capabilities, enabling global enterprises to modernise mission-critical business applications and accelerate their digital transformation journeys.
The project also strengthens Infosys’ partnership ecosystem with SAP, one of the world’s leading enterprise software providers, positioning the company to pursue additional cloud migration opportunities across manufacturing and industrial sectors.
Management Strategy
Kenji Kitazato, Head of the ICT Strategy Department at NTN Corporation, said the migration has streamlined IT operations, improved business agility and created a strong technology foundation for the company’s future digital initiatives.
Arun Hoskere, Executive Vice President and Head of Infosys Japan, stated that the company’s expertise in SAP Commerce Cloud and enterprise-scale transformation enabled NTN to modernise its e-commerce landscape with agility, while also improving operational efficiency and creating long-term business value.
Meanwhile, SAP Japan noted that the collaboration demonstrates how enterprises can efficiently modernise their digital commerce platforms by combining SAP’s cloud technologies with Infosys’ implementation capabilities, enabling faster digital transformation and measurable business outcomes.
Strategic Insight and Industry Analysis
The engagement strengthens Infosys’ strategic position in high-value enterprise cloud transformation services, but its value is unknown. Complex migration, application modernisation, and managed cloud services will continue to drive global IT service providers’ structural growth as manufacturers replace legacy IT infrastructure with cloud-native platforms.
The successful execution boosts Infosys’ reputation in Japan, one of its key growth markets. Investors may watch for larger digital transformation mandates from similar cloud transformation engagements to strengthen client relationships and grow the company’s enterprise cloud services portfolio.
