With a market capitalisation of Rs. 5,13,855 cr, the shares of Larsen & Toubro Ltd were trading at Rs. 3735.15 per share, down from its previous close of Rs. 3,793.60 per share. The stock has gained 7% over the past year but declined 10% on a year-to-date basis, 1% over the last six months, and 11% in the past month.
About the order
Larsen & Toubro Ltd has announced that its Heavy Engineering business has secured multiple international orders classified as “Large,” with a cumulative value ranging between Rs. 2,500 crore and Rs. 5,000 crore. The orders span Asia, Africa, North America, South America, and Europe, strengthening the company’s global presence in process plant equipment manufacturing.
A key highlight is the order from Africa’s Dangote Group for its mega refinery and multi-train fertilizer expansion projects in Nigeria and Ethiopia. Under this contract, L&T will supply critical process equipment, including the world’s largest Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) Reactor Regenerator Package, along with essential urea and ammonia processing equipment used in fertilizer manufacturing.
The company has also secured a repeat order from a Japanese customer to manufacture and supply heat exchangers and absorbers for an LNG project in Canada. Additionally, L&T won contracts to supply core heavy engineering equipment such as coke drums, fractionator columns, and heat exchangers for customers in Spain, the United States, and Brazil.
Commenting on the development, Anil Parab, Whole-time Director and Senior Executive Vice President – Manufacturing, said the new orders reflect customers’ continued confidence in L&T’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and its proven track record of delivering high-quality process equipment for large-scale industrial projects worldwide.
Recent Order
Recently, on July 20th, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) secured multiple “Mega” orders, valued between Rs. 10,000 crore and Rs. 15,000 crore, for its Metals & Minerals (M&M) business from leading domestic metals and mining companies. The company received an order from India’s largest iron ore producer for Package #BE-01C of an 18 MTPA Iron Ore Handling Plant in Chhattisgarh, which is part of the miner’s plan to expand iron ore production capacity to 100 MTPA by 2030. The scope includes engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning of conveyor systems, screening plants, stockyards, and a Rapid Wagon Loading System.
Additionally, L&T secured multiple design-and-build and balance-of-plant packages for the expansion of a public sector Navratna steel plant in West Bengal from 2.5 MTPA to 7.1 MTPA.
Order Book
For FY26, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) reported a record order inflow of Rs. 4.36 lakh crore, up 22 percent from Rs. 3.57 lakh crore in FY25. Domestic orders stood at Rs. 1.85 lakh crore, while international orders reached Rs. 2.51 lakh crore, reflecting strong demand across global markets.
As of 31 March 2026, the company’s consolidated order book rose 28 percent YoY to Rs. 7.40 lakh crore, with international projects accounting for 52 percent of the total. Infrastructure remained the largest contributor with a 57 percent share, followed by the Energy segment at 35 percent.
Geographically, India contributed 48 percent of the total order book, while the Middle East accounted for 40 percent, underscoring L&T’s strong presence in the Gulf region. The remaining 12 percent came from other international markets, highlighting the company’s diversified global footprint.
Looking ahead, L&T has identified an addressable opportunity pipeline of nearly Rs. 17.8 lakh crore for FY27, supported by growth prospects across infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, and services in both domestic and overseas markets.
