Synopsis: A five-decade-old hydro infrastructure specialist has emerged as the lowest bidder for a major barrage and irrigation project on the Mahanadi River in Chhattisgarh, adding significantly to a company whose order book already stands at over four times its FY26 revenue.

The Jaipur-headquartered infrastructure player continues to expand its footprint in water resource development, this time emerging as the top bidder for a large-scale barrage project that combines civil engineering with advanced irrigation systems.

With a market capitalization of Rs.872 crore, the shares of Om Infra Limited were trading at Rs.97.50 per share, up by 12 percent after the order was received, with a P/E of approximately 42x.

Order Details

Om Infra Limited has been declared the Lowest Bidder (L1) as per data released by the Water Resources Department (WRD), Chhattisgarh, for a major commercial infrastructure contract valued at Rs 568.98 crore.

The bid pertains to the construction of the Mohmela Sirpur Barrage Project and all appurtenant works on the Mahanadi River in Tahsil-Arang, District Raipur, Chhattisgarh  including a pipe irrigation network, along with operation and maintenance for five years following completion of construction.

The company noted that it is now awaiting the formal Letter of Intent (LOI) to begin execution. Management said the win reflects the company’s execution capabilities across both complex civil engineering barrage and hydro-mechanical works and advanced micro-irrigation systems, and is expected to bring more efficient, sustainable water management to the region.

Om Infra Limited, formerly Om Metals Infraprojects, is a Jaipur-based infrastructure company with over five decades of experience in hydro-mechanical engineering and barrage construction. It specialises in designing and manufacturing hydro-mechanical equipment like gates and hoists, alongside civil construction on river infrastructure and irrigation systems. Its track record includes projects like the Koldam Hydro Electric Project and Prakasam Barrage, making it a niche infrastructure specialist. 

Om Infra’s Q4FY26 showed a mixed picture. Net sales fell 7% YoY to Rs 160 crore, though this marked a strong 43% jump sequentially from Rs 112 crore in Q3FY26. EBITDA turned around sharply to Rs 16 crore, against a loss of Rs 16 crore in Q4FY25, taking EBITDA margins to 10% from negative territory a year earlier. PAT attributable to owners came in at Rs 7 crore, down 57% YoY from Rs 15 crore, with PAT margins at 4%.

For the full year, FY26 net sales declined 30% to Rs 500 crore from Rs 713 crore in FY25, while PAT fell 43% to Rs 21 crore from Rs 36 crore. EBITDA, however, improved to Rs 28 crore from Rs 20 crore, with margins expanding to 6% from 3%, aided by a sharp 32% reduction in total expenses.

The company’s order book stood at Rs 2,107 crore for FY26, translating into a book-to-bill ratio of 4.21x, offering strong multi-year revenue visibility relative to current annual sales. Om Infra also maintains a conservative balance sheet, with a net debt-to-equity ratio of just 0.03x. Over FY20–25, the company has posted a revenue CAGR of 31% and an EBITDA CAGR of 7%.

With over 55 years of project execution experience, more than 70 completed projects worth over Rs 5,000 crore, and a client base that includes the World Bank and the Government of India, Om Infra positions itself as a specialist in hydro-mechanical equipment, barrage construction and turnkey water infrastructure solutions.
