Synopsis: In a strategic move to dominate the on-train ancillary services market, ixigo (Le Travenues Technology) has integrated Swiggy’s food delivery network into its platforms, enabling restaurant-quality meal deliveries for rail passengers.

Shares of a leading travel technology company came into focus after announcing a major integration with the food delivery giant, Swiggy. The news of this partnership, which aims to transform the dining experience for rail commuters, triggered an 8 percent surge in the stock price during early trading hours on the BSE.

With a market capitalization of Rs. 7,995.53 crore, the shares of Le Travenues Technology Limited were trading at Rs. 182.47 per share, up 6.94 percent from its previous closing price of Rs. 170.63. It is trading at a P/E of 113.

The parent company of travel booking platforms ixigo and ConfirmTkt has formalised a partnership with Swiggy to deliver meals directly to passengers’ berths. This service is currently operational across more than 160 railway stations in India, tapping into Swiggy’s network of over 40,000 restaurant partners. The integration allows travellers to place food orders starting from four days before the journey up to 30 minutes before the train reaches the designated station.

From an analytical perspective, this move allows ixigo to further monetise its massive rail-user base without the capital expenditure of building its own logistics. By embedding real-time tracking within the ixigo Trains and ConfirmTkt apps, the company is increasing app “stickiness.” The delivery guarantee, offering a full refund if the meal misses the train, is a critical trust-building mechanism designed to convert traditional pantry-car users into digital customers.

Early data from the collaboration indicates that nearly 14 percent of orders are being placed remotely by family members for loved ones in transit. This “remote care” segment represents a new sub-vertical for travel-tech players. The partnership effectively bridges the gap between limited railway pantry menus and a wider variety of regional staples and national fast-food chains.
