Synopsis: The region of Dakshina Kannada is going to get a major upgrade in its road infrastructure through the 57 crores approved by the government to improve 14 roads, this money comes from the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund.

The Central Government has given the approval to spend 57 crore rupees on the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund for 14 road projects in Dakshina Kannada. These projects will fix up roads that’re around 82.94 kilometres long and  improve the movement between cities, towns and villages

Areas Likely to Benefit the Most

  • Mangaluru has a port and other important places like hubs, schools and hospitals. If the roads are better it will be easier for people to get to these places in Mangaluru.
  • Due to this project the town of Moodbidri can be connected to Mangluru and surrounding towns which will support development of business and real estate there.
  • The town of Bantwal needs better roads so that the movement of goods from one place to another can be smoother, helping trade and businesses in Bantwal.
  • In Belthangady better roads can help tourists come and visit, it will also help farmers sell their products in towns.
  • The people of Puttur think that if their roads are better it will be good for businesses and they will also be able to go to school, hospital and work easily.
  • Ullal is a small  town and better roads will help connect it to Mangaluru, which will be good for tourism and businesses in Ullal as more people will want to live and work there.

Due to the improved roads, people will take less time to reach their destination like shops, schools, hospitals and tourist spots and the movement of goods and services will also be easier.

The road development projects are good for the future of these areas because better roads will bring more businesses to these areas and help the local economy grow. The projects like these will make these areas more attractive to people who want to buy homes or start businesses.
