People who travel on NICE Road and the Electronic City Elevated Expressway in Bengaluru will have to pay more soon. These are two of the busiest tolled roads in the city, the change will affect thousands of people who use these roads every day especially those who go to offices in Electronic City and those who want to avoid traffic.

What Has Changed

Motorists using NICE Road and the Electronic City Elevated Expressway in Bengaluru will have to pay more for using these roads. The new toll charges have started from July 1 and the new rates apply to multiple types of vehicles including cars, jeeps, vans and trucks. The reason for the toll revision is part of a review, this review is allowed in the agreements that govern how NICE Road and Electronic City Elevated Expressway are run.

NICE Road is run by Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) Ltd and the Electronic City Elevated Expressway is managed by Bengaluru Elevated Tollway Pvt. Ltd. (BETL).The companies say they need to revise the toll to help pay for maintaining and operating these roads.

The new toll prices are something that happens from time to time because of the rules in the agreements for the NICE Road and the Electronic City Elevated Expressway (BETL). They do this to make sure the roads are okay and that the people in charge of the roads can pay for everything in the long run.

The new tolls also help pay for fixing the roads, bridges and flyovers well as keeping the safety systems and toll booths working. Sometimes the toll prices are connected to things like the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) so the people in charge can deal with inflation and the costs of keeping everything running.

The toll hike will also affect people who drive trucks and buses for a living, companies that move goods from one place to another and people who travel between cities will have to pay more to use these roads. This means that businesses that rely on these routes to move goods will have to pay a little more for transportation because of the toll rates. The toll hike will increase the costs of operating vehicles and doing business for companies that use Electronic City and NICE Road.
