In Karnataka, there are 261 EOUs (Export Oriented Units) and 39 SEZs (Special Economic Zones). The SEZ map of Bangalore is dominated by the city as a tech capital of India, with zones clustered around well-known IT corridors.

SEZ concentration tends to pull real estate demand, rental activity, ancillary services, and job creation both direct and indirect jobs, into the immediate micro-market. These areas and localities stand to benefit from the existence of SEZ in its proximity, the Outer Ring Road belt, Devarabeesanahalli, Bellandur, Kadubeesanahalli, Doddanekundi, Whitefield – K.R. Puram corridor, Sarjapur Road, Varthur, Yelahanka, North Bangalore near the airport Devanahalli, Electronic City, Attibele-Jigani, Bommasandra or Anekal. In Bengaluru, the presence of the maximum number of SEZs are in the IT and ITES category, and is along the ORR, Whitefield, Sarjapur Road and Electronic City corridors.
