Synopsis: Special Economic Zones (SEZ) in 2025 are focused on attracting high tech manufacturing investments, especially in the semiconductor and electronics sector. This article discusses some of the new SEZs that are approved by the Government in 2025 and how the areas might become growth zones for investors.
The newly declared SEZs embody India’s vision to become a global manufacturing hub by easing regulatory barriers, lowering land requirements and enabling easier market access. The SEZs symbolises a significant leap towards fostering innovation, generating high skilled employment and reducing import dependency, it positions the country as a strategic player in the global semiconductor supply chain.
Major SEZs approved by Government after June till November 2025
1. Micron Semiconductor Technology India Pvt. Ltd.

It is a subsidiary of the global memory and storage company, located in Sanand, Ahmedabad district in the state of Gujarat. This project develops the manufacturing of semiconductors supply chain in India focusing on packaging DRAM and NAND flash chips. This SEZ captures 37.64 hectares of land. Projected investment is about Rs. 13,000 crore. It will be ready to operate from late 2024 or early 2025.
2. Hubballi Durable Goods Cluster Pvt. Ltd (Aequs group)

It is developed by Aequs infra company, located in Itigatti village, Dharwad district in the state of Karnataka. This project develops electronic components and manufacturing in India focusing on connectors, sensors and enclosures. . This SEZ captures 11.549 hectares of land. Projected investment is about Rs. 100 crore. It is an operating company right now.
3. Sricity Electronics Manufacturing Zone

It is a well known business and industrial destination that hosts multiple zones including SEZ. located near Mallavalli extension Satyavedu, in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This project develops Multi product electronics + EV components in India. This SEZ captures 337 hectares of land. Projected investment is about Rs. 4200 crore. It is operating with 220 companies from 30 different companies and ready to accept new companies.
4. Reliance Electronics Component SEZ Ltd.

RIL operates the world’s largest single-site refinery and is building a vast Green energy giga complex, located in Jamnagar, in the state of Gujarat. This project develops electronic components and battery material in India and also plans to build a data center in Jamnagar. This SEZ captures 1377 hectares of land. Projected investment is about Rs. 75000 crore. It will be ready to operate from 2026.

5. Larsen & Toubro Technological Services SEZ Expansion

This facility is the company’s global nerve center, located in Vadodara, Ahmedabad district in the state of Gujarat. This project includes digital engineering, embedded systems, engineering analytics, plant engineering and manufacturing. This SEZ captures 4.32 hectares of land. Projected investment is about Rs. 7000 crore. It will be ready to operate from late 2026 or early 2027.
6. Infosys Ltd Expansion SEZ Campus 4

Infosys has continued to expand its presence in Pune in the state of Maharashtra through new facilities and leases, in June 2025 Infosys launched a new GCC in Kharadi which will act as a hub for innovation and AI transformation, the campus expansion plan is to add 35000 capacity from 4000 capacity it is a 690 crore expansion plan.
