With a market capitalisation of Rs. 6,055 cr, the shares of Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd were trading at Rs. 276.65, crashing over 40% in today’s market session, making a low of Rs. 276.65, down from its previous close of Rs. 471.50 per share.

Shares of Triveni Engineering experienced a sharp drop of approximately 38.5%, opening at Rs. 289.95 per share on the NSE. This price movement represents a technical price adjustment due to the company trading ex-demerger, rather than selling pressure from investors. Following the adjustment, the company’s market capitalization stands at Rs. 5,982 crore.
The price adjustment accounts for the separation of the company’s power transmission business into a standalone entity named Triveni Power Transmission. To discover the adjusted share price, the stock exchanges conducted a special pre-open session between 9:15 AM and 9:45 AM, with regular trading commencing at 10:00 AM.
Share Allotment and Eligibility
Under the demerger ratio, eligible investors will receive 1 share of Triveni Power Transmission for every 3 shares held in Triveni Engineering as of the record date, July 22, 2026. Shares of Triveni Power Transmission are set to be listed independently on both the BSE and NSE.
Because India operates on a T+1 settlement cycle, only investors who purchased Triveni Engineering shares prior to the record date qualify to receive the new shares. Fresh buyers purchasing shares on or after July 22 will not receive entitlement to Triveni Power Transmission shares.
