Promoter stake sales happen when the main shareholders (promoters) sell some of their shares, either in the open market or through special deals. Investors watch these sales closely, as they can mean the promoters want to book profits, raise money for new projects, or meet personal or regulatory needs.

While a drop in promoter holding might worry some investors, it can also be a smart move for promoters to diversify wealth or reduce debt, so the reason behind the sale matters.

Here are the three stocks in which the promoter sold its stake:

Star Cement Limited

Star Cement Limited, established on November 2, 2001, and formerly known as Cement Manufacturing Company Limited, is the largest cement producer in Northeast India. Headquartered in Meghalaya and Assam, it operates several integrated plants and grinding units across Northeast and Eastern India, including Lumshnong (Meghalaya), Sonapur (Assam), and Siliguri (West Bengal).

Vinay and Company, part of the Promoter Group, executed a market sale of 1,228 equity shares in the company on June 27, 2025, at an average price of Rs. 213.90 per share. The transaction, reported on July 2, 2025, amounted to a total value of Rs. 2.63 lakhs. Following the sale, their holding stands at 1,100,172 shares (0.27% of the company).

Additionally, Suchita Agarwal, also from the Promoter Group, carried out a market sale of 9,500 equity shares on June 27, 2025, at an average price of Rs. 213.50 per share. The transaction, reported on July 2, 2025, was valued at Rs. 20.28 lakhs. Post-sale, her holding is 800,035 shares (0.20% of the company).

Asahi India Glass Limited

Asahi India Glass Limited, commonly known as AIS, is India’s leading integrated glass solutions provider, established in 1984. AIS manufactures a comprehensive range of glass products, including automotive safety glass, float glass, architectural processed glass, and specialized consumer glass solutions.

Ashok Kanhayalal Monga, part of the Promoter Group, executed a market sale of 6,000 equity shares in the company on July 19, 2025, at an average price of Rs. 781.40 per share. The transaction, reported on July 2, 2025, amounted to a total value of Rs. 46.88 lakhs

Earlier, Ashok Kanhayalal Monga has also executed a market sale of 5,124 equity shares in the company on May 29, 2025, at an average price of Rs. 766.00 per share. The transaction, reported on July 2, 2025, amounted to a total value of Rs. 39.25 lakhs. 

They had also conducted a market sale of 876 equity shares on May 21, 2025, at an average price of Rs. 757.40 per share. This transaction, reported on July 2, 2025, was valued at Rs. 6.63 lakhs. 

Axiscades Technologies Limited

Axiscades Technologies Limited is a Bengaluru-headquartered engineering and technology services firm offering a wide range of product design, digital engineering, and integration solutions across aerospace, defense, automotive, energy, electronics, heavy engineering, and shipbuilding sectors.

Jupiter Capital Private Limited, the Promoter, executed a market sale of 38,500 equity shares in the company on June 27, 2025, at an average price of Rs. 1,426.60 per share. The transaction, reported on July 2, 2025, amounted to a total value of Rs. 5.49 crores. Following this sale, their holding stands at 24,732,047 shares (58.20% of the company).

Additionally, Jupiter Capital Private Limited conducted a market sale of 11,500 equity shares on June 27, 2025, at an average price of Rs. 1,425.70 per share. This transaction, also reported on July 2, 2025, was valued at Rs. 1.64 crores. After this sale, their holding stood at 24,770,547 shares (58.29% of the company).
