A capital goods stock fell sharply on Thursday after reporting a steep decline in Q2FY26 profits, with net profit down both YoY and QoQ. Sales and operating margins contracted significantly, reflecting weak order inflows and challenging demand conditions. Prominent investor Vijay Kedia acquired a fresh stake in the company yesterday.

Eimco Elecon (India) Ltd, with a market capitalization of Rs. 1,169.89 crore, opened at Rs. 2,380, touched an intraday low of Rs. 1,991.40, and had a previous close of Rs. 2,301, marking a decline of 13.5 percent from the previous close.

Quarter-on-Quarter (QOQ) Performance: From Q1FY26 to Q2FY26, Eimco Elecon’s revenue declined from Rs. 67.57 crore to Rs. 33.24 crore, down 50.8 percent. Operating profit fell from Rs. 12.31 crore to Rs. 5.22 crore, a decline of 57.6 percent. PBT contracted from Rs. 18.41 crore to Rs. 6.89 crore, down 62.6 percent, while net profit dropped from Rs. 14.48 crore to Rs. 5.35 crore, a fall of 63.1 percent.

Year-on-Year (YOY) Performance: Compared to Q2FY25, revenue slipped from Rs. 66.63 crore to Rs. 33.24 crore, down 50.2 percent. Operating profit decreased from Rs. 15.09 crore to Rs. 5.22 crore, a 65.4 percent decline. PBT fell from Rs. 19.21 crore to Rs. 6.89 crore, down 64.1 percent, and net profit dropped from Rs. 13.06 crore to Rs. 5.35 crore, a decline of 59.0 percent.
