Stock in Focus
Shares of Zen Technologies Limited rose nearly 7% on May 27, 2026, after the company announced the launch of its Integrated Smart Border Suite (ISBS) – positioned as India’s first homegrown, AI-powered border security ecosystem. The announcement comes days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that India would roll out a nationwide Smart Border project to secure nearly 6,000 km of borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh, using advanced technologies including drones, radars, and surveillance systems.
What Is the Integrated Smart Border Suite?
In simple terms, the ISBS is a collection of six defence technology products that work together as a single system to watch, detect, and respond to threats along India’s borders – round the clock, across difficult terrain, and in all weather conditions.
The suite includes AI-powered anti-drone systems that can neutralise hostile drones using both soft-kill (signal jamming) and hard-kill (physical destruction) methods. It also features smart loitering munitions – essentially AI-guided flying weapons that can hover over a target zone, gather intelligence, and strike with precision when needed. Interceptor drones are designed to chase and destroy enemy drones mid-air before they can reach sensitive areas.
On the ground, the suite deploys Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) – robot-like autonomous machines that can carry out surveillance and logistics in high-risk zones without putting soldiers in danger. Remote Controlled Weapon Stations allow operators to fire weapons accurately from a safe distance, guided by thermal cameras and electro-optical sensors. Rounding out the suite are long-range thermal surveillance systems that monitor borders continuously, even in pitch darkness or fog.
Together, these six components form what Zen Technologies describes as a unified operational grid – a single, seamless digital shield for India’s borders.
Commenting on the launch, Chairman and Managing Director Ashok Atluri said the suite was developed as an indigenous AI-enabled ecosystem integrating autonomous surveillance, anti-drone systems, and real-time situational awareness into one platform, built entirely on Indian intellectual property.
