Synopsis: MARC Technocrats Limited has secured a Rs. 6 crore contract from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for providing independent engineering services for a four-lane highway project in Bihar. The 48-month contract strengthens the company’s order book, enhances long-term revenue visibility and reinforces its position in India’s growing highway infrastructure consultancy segment.
Shares of MARC Technocrats Limited are likely to remain in focus after the company announced that it has secured a new project from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for providing independent engineering services for the construction of a four-lane highway corridor in Bihar under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).
MARC Technocrats Limited has a total market capitalization of approximately Rs. 179.71 crore. The company’s shares were trading at Rs. 103.80 apiece on the stock exchange, down by 3.71 percent. The stock has gained 12.83 percent over the last five trading sessions and gained 29.02 percent over the last month. The stock touched a 52-week high of Rs. 111 and a 52-week low of Rs. 40.75.
According to the company’s exchange filing, the project involves Independent Engineering Services for the construction of the four-laning of the Patna–Arrah–Sasaram Corridor (Package-2). The assignment covers Section 1 from Garhani to Patar and Section 2 from Sadisopur at Patna Ring Road to Asani, being developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) in the state of Bihar. The scope of work includes design review, construction supervision and operation & maintenance (O&M) monitoring.
The contract is valued at Rs. 6 crore (excluding GST) and will be executed over a period of 48 months, comprising a 6-month development period, 24-month construction phase and 18-month operation and maintenance period. The company also clarified that the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity, is not a related-party transaction and that neither the promoters nor the promoter group have any interest in the awarding authority.
Although the contract value is relatively modest, projects from NHAI carry significant strategic importance as they enhance a consultancy firm’s execution credentials and improve eligibility for larger infrastructure assignments in the future. Long-duration consultancy contracts also provide stable fee-based revenues over multiple years, reducing earnings volatility compared to companies dependent solely on construction contracts.
The role of an Independent Engineer is particularly critical in HAM projects, where the consultant is responsible for monitoring project quality, ensuring compliance with contractual specifications, certifying milestones and overseeing construction and maintenance activities. As India continues expanding its national highway network, demand for specialised engineering consultancy services is expected to remain strong alongside rising investments in road infrastructure.
India’s road infrastructure sector continues to receive substantial policy support through higher government capital expenditure and programmes led by NHAI and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Increasing adoption of Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) projects has created sustained opportunities for engineering consultants, project management firms and independent engineers responsible for ensuring quality execution and timely completion of highway projects.
For investors, the latest contract strengthens MARC Technocrats’ order pipeline while reinforcing its presence in the infrastructure consultancy space. Although the financial contribution from the project will accrue gradually over four years, successful execution could enhance the company’s track record with government agencies and improve its prospects of securing larger consultancy assignments in the future.
Incorporated in August 2007, MARC Technocrats Limited is an infrastructure consultancy company providing engineering and project management services for highways, bridges and other infrastructure projects. The company offers independent engineering, design review, construction supervision, project management consultancy (PMC), quality assurance, operation and maintenance (O&M) monitoring, feasibility studies and advisory services for government and private sector clients. It primarily caters to projects executed under EPC, Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) frameworks, supporting infrastructure development across India.
