Synopsis: A power infrastructure company is likely to remain on investors’ radar after announcing a fresh order from a government-owned utility. The latest contract is expected to strengthen its execution pipeline, enhance revenue visibility, and reinforce its presence in India’s rapidly expanding power distribution sector. The development also comes as utilities continue to accelerate investments in grid modernization and underground cabling projects across the country.
India’s power distribution landscape is changing due to rising power demand, urban infrastructure, and government efforts to strengthen transmission and distribution networks. Distribution companies are investing in underground cabling, modern electrical equipment, and grid modernisation to improve network reliability and reduce technical losses. However, a state-owned power utility placed a new electrical infrastructure order with RMC Switchgears.
Shares of RMC Switchgears Limited were trading at Rs 270, up by 0.75 percent from the previous close of Rs 268. The stock opened at Rs 267.9 and reached an intraday high of Rs 270.9, with a day’s low of Rs 262.9. The company currently has a market capitalisation of Rs 286 crore
RMC Secures Fresh Order
RMC Switchgears Limited has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) for the supply of 100 amp low tension (LT) distribution kiosks suitable for underground cabling projects.
The order carries a total value of Rs. 2,84,47,125 (Rs. 2.84 crore) and is scheduled to be executed within six months. According to the company, the latest contract is expected to strengthen its existing order book while contributing positively to future revenue growth and business expansion.
The order has been awarded by a domestic government-owned electricity distribution company and forms part of ongoing investments in strengthening urban power distribution infrastructure.
The scope involves supplying 100 amp LT distribution kiosks, which play a critical role in underground electricity distribution systems by housing electrical switching and protection equipment, enabling safer and more reliable electricity distribution while minimizing exposure to external environmental conditions. Such kiosks are widely deployed in smart city developments and underground cabling projects to improve grid safety, operational efficiency, and network reliability.
Order Terms and Strategic Significance
As per the purchase order, the contract will be governed by the general conditions of contract, including the applicable price variation formula, technical specifications, and other tender conditions.
In the event of any inconsistency, the provisions of the Rajasthan Transparency in Public Procurement (RTPP) Act will prevail. The company further clarified that the order is not a related-party transaction, and neither the promoter nor the promoter group has any interest in the awarding entity.
While the contract size is relatively modest, it further strengthens RMC Switchgears’ execution pipeline and reinforces its credentials as a supplier to government power utilities. Consistent order inflows from state distribution companies enhance revenue visibility and execution track record, improving the company’s prospects for securing larger contracts in India’s growing power infrastructure sector.
