Business Transformation
The history of Valiant Communications can be traced back to 1994, when the company began by manufacturing telecom transmission products like digital pair gain systems, PCM multiplexers and optical line terminating equipment. In recent times, the firm has grown to develop mission-critical communications and networking technologies in sectors that need uninterrupted connectivity.
Today, its product range covers far more than just telecoms, including synchronisation systems, teleprotection equipment, industrial Ethernet switches, IP/MPLS routers, cybersecurity technologies, network management software, and secure data storage systems that are critical infrastructure.
This change has led to the company servicing an even bigger range of customers from power utilities, oil & gas, transportation, railways, airports, defence, industrial automation, and telecom operators.
While not competing in commodity networking products, Valiant targets technologies whose performance, security and availability are crucial. This has given the company the chance to take part in several critical infrastructure themes that have been developed over many decades in communication technologies.
Betting on AI
AI technology is fast becoming one of the leading infrastructure investment themes around the world, resulting in a need not only for high-end processors but also for power supply, network security, and efficient data storage facilities. Valiant feels that its current product portfolio is poised to be able to capitalize on this growing trend through products which will cater to both AI data centres and the underlying utility infrastructure of these data centres.
Valiant’s products include its smart grid communications systems, Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs), synchronisation technologies, grid islanding technologies, and networking products, which ensure a continuous power and network supply for AI data centres.
Valiant also offers NAS/SAN storage systems, secure networking solutions, and precise timekeeping solutions, which have become essential for large AI computing environments. The management indicated that the upcoming Union Budget 2026-27’s emphasis on AI infrastructure and data centres would present opportunities for these products.
Cybersecurity Edge
Cybersecurity has become yet another important pillar of growth at Valiant, as critical infrastructure providers have started putting more emphasis on network resilience. Valiant provides hardware-based cybersecurity products such as ransomware detection systems, kill switch devices, data diodes, ransomware-proof NAS/SAN storage systems, network failover systems, and quantum-safe authentication and encryption systems.
Such products would help protect power utilities, telecoms, transportation, and other critical infrastructures from potential cyberattacks. Furthermore, Valiant has started exploring opportunities in the defence-related segment of its business through its EMP-protected data storage systems, GPS/GNSS/NavIC synchronisation systems, and communication security.
Although defence is not one of its main segments, management considers defence, CII, cybersecurity, and OT networks as the most important long-term growth opportunities in addition to utilities and telecoms.
Smart Grid Play
Although AI infrastructure and cybersecurity have emerged as future growth opportunities, power utilities remain at the center of Valiant Communications’ operations. The increasing digitisation of electricity grids with greater use of renewable energy is resulting in the need for advanced communication, synchronisation, and protection devices by the utilities.
Using its extensive expertise in the domain of utility communications, Valiant has developed an impressive portfolio of products, including Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs), GPS / GNSS / NavIC synchronisation products, IEEE 1588 PTP Grandmaster Clocks, grid islanding products, teleprotection devices, Ethernet communication systems, and utility networking solutions.
These devices enable real-time monitoring, fault detection and fast power network restoration and become increasingly important as utilities modernise their infrastructures. The firm also announced a PMU deal with Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL), which reflects the commercial success of its smart grid solutions.
In addition to the communication products, Valiant has developed specific cybersecurity products aimed at securing SCADA and utility networks. Management continues to expect investments in grid modernisation, digital substations, and resilient power infrastructure, which would create growth opportunities for Valiant’s communication, synchronisation, and cybersecurity portfolio.
Financial Momentum
In spite of its modest size, Valiant has been able to develop itself as a global brand for more than three decades now. The firm already has installations in more than 110 countries. The firm has offices in India, the USA, the UK, and Canada, in addition to more than 25 distributors worldwide. It has diverse usage across power utilities, telecom, railways, transport, airports, oil and gas, defence, and industries.
There are certain strategic recognitions that have enhanced the credibility of the company. The firm is recognised as a Class 1 Local Supplier as per the Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order and has been certified as a Trusted Source by the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) for telecom network products.
In addition, being a holder of various international quality certifications, it can benefit from taking up government, utility, and strategic infrastructure projects. With the continued emphasis on secure communications and infrastructure development in countries worldwide, Valiant can leverage its global distribution and indigenous product portfolios.
Order Book & Exports
The latest business update from Valiant also gives visibility on its immediate revenue pipeline. Valiant recorded a confirmed gross order book of Rs 68.92 crore, whereas the projects where Valiant is the L1 bidder are valued at more than Rs 15.50 crore.
In addition to these projects, there are further advanced opportunities which add up to a valuation of more than Rs 90 crore for the management, along with an overall opportunity pipeline exceeding Rs 110 crore.
Management sees these opportunities being driven by multiple structural trends such as AI infrastructure, implementation of the smart grid, modernization of utilities, cybersecurity, CII & digital infrastructure, etc.
The difference from businesses with a focus on one specific industry segment is that Valiant has opportunities across power utilities, telecoms, transport, defence & enterprise networks, thus having diversified growth drivers. Valiant’s strategy of expanding its technologies in new high-growth markets may help it capture multiple infrastructure spending cycles.
Hidden Gem or Hype?
The Valiant Communications stock has been slowly changing from a pure telecom equipment manufacturer to a company with products in mission-critical communication and infrastructure segments. The increasing relevance of artificial intelligence infrastructure, cybersecurity, smart grids, secure networks and defence applications puts the stock into several themes related to infrastructure and technology, which will be seeing continuous investments in the coming years.
At the same time, the company has shown record financial results in FY26 and improved margins and order flow, signaling that its transformation strategy is starting to pay off.
Although execution, order conversion and scalability should be carefully watched in the context of its relatively modest size, the company seems well positioned in the niches, where knowledge of technology and quality of products become more important than size.
If the company manages to convert its ever-growing opportunities pipeline to orders and leverages growing investments in AI infrastructure, utility transformation and secure communications networks, the position of Valiant Communications can gradually improve, and it might grow into a hidden gem.
