With a market capitalization of Rs 17,698 crore, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. shares made an intraday high of Rs 1,577 per share on Wednesday, up by 0.7 percent compared to the previous day’s closing price of Rs 1,565.80. The stock has corrected by over 5 percent in the last 6 months.
About the announcement
The company on Wednesday announced that it has received an order worth Rs 489.98 crore by Geological Survey of India, Government of India for the design, construction and delivery of two coastal research vessels. The construction is estimated to be completed by 36 months from the signing of the contract.
On April 8, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd signed an MoU with SWAN Defence and Heavy Industries Ltd to strengthen India’s commercial shipbuilding capabilities. The partnership will focus on building commercial vessels and offshore structures for both domestic and international clients.
Last month, the company also signed its first-ever MoU with a North-Eastern state, Nagaland’s PWD, for the supply of eight Double Lane Modular Steel Bridges. The deal’s value has not been disclosed.

Financial Highlights
The company reported a revenue of Rs 1,343.13 crores in Q3 FY25, up by 33 percent, from its Q3 FY24 revenue of Rs 1,004.61 crore. Its operating profit stands at Rs 75.3 crore in Q3 FY25 vs 48.72 crore in Q3 FY24. It reported a net profit of Rs 98.19 crore in Q3 FY25, up by 11 percent, from its Q3 FY24 net profit of Rs 88.25 crore.
