The shares of the prominent fertilizer manufacturer gained up to 7.5 percent in today’s trading session after the company’s net profit magnified by 62 percent YoY and 29 percent QoQ in the fourth quarter.

With a market capitalization of Rs 7,819.45 crore, the shares of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd were trading at Rs 531.70 per share, increased around 3.57 percent as compared to the previous closing price of Rs 513.35 apiece.

Q4 Highlights

The shares of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals have seen positive movement after reporting positive Q4 results, revenue increased by 8 percent on a quarter-on-quarter basis from Rs 1,899 crore in Q3FY25 to Rs 2,055 crore in Q4FY25. Further, revenue decreased by 3 percent year on year, from Rs 2,110 crore in Q4FY24 to Rs 2,055 crore in Q4FY25.

The company’s net profit increased by 29 percent on a quarter-on-quarter basis, from Rs.163 crore in Q3FY25 to Rs.211 crore in Q4FY25. Further, net profit magnified significantly by 62 percent year on year from Rs 130 crore in Q4FY24 to Rs 211 crore in Q4FY25.

The company posted a mixed FY24- 25 performance, with revenue fallen 0.4 percent from Rs 7,930 crore to Rs 7,892 crore. Net profit jumped 20 percent, from Rs 497 crore to Rs 597 crore, reflecting positive profitability over the previous financial year. The board of directors approved a dividend of Rs. 18 per equity share of Rs. 10 each, fully paid up (@ 180%) for the financial year ended March 31, 2025

Operation highlights

The company operates major chemical and fertilizer facilities in Bharuch (since 1982) and Dahej (since 2014). It manufactures products like acetic acid, methanol, urea, and nitric acid, with significant installed capacities—636 KTPA for urea and 348 KTPA for weak nitric acid—highlighting its large-scale, diversified production capabilities.

The company collaborates with global technology leaders for its chemical and fertilizer production. Partners include BASF, BP Chemicals, GE Energy, Haldor Topsoe, Chematur, and Uhde, providing technologies for products like acetic acid, ammonia, methanol, urea, nitric acid, and formic acid, ensuring advanced, efficient, and reliable manufacturing processes.

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) operates businesses mainly in the Industrial Chemicals, Fertilizers, apart from a small presence of IT services. In the chemical segment, it has a product portfolio of various bulk chemicals that are used in industries for manufacturing various specialty chemicals as well as end products.
