The shares of the electrical equipment manufacturer gained upto 3 percent in today’s trading session after the company bagged a significant work order from the Maharashtra Energy Department Agency worth Rs 100.68 crore.

With a market capitalization of Rs 22,048.74 crore, the shares of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd were trading at Rs 342.45 per share, decreasing around 0.33 percent as compared to the previous closing price of Rs 343.60 apiece.

The shares of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd have seen a positive after bagging a significant work order from the Maharashtra Energy Department Agency worth Rs 100.68 crore for design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, testing, and commissioning of 4500 Off-grid Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping System (SPWPS) at various locations across the State of Maharashtra under the esteemed MNRE Component-B of the PM-KUSUM scheme.

Looking forward to the company’s financial performance, revenue increased by 5 percent from Rs 1,961 crore in Q4FY24 to Rs 2,061 crore in Q4FY25. Further, during the same time frame, net profit increased by 29 percent from Rs 133 crore to Rs 172 crore.

Crompton is evaluating a greenfield project with ₹350 Cr capex for fan manufacturing, targeted for completion in 2–3 years. The focus areas include increasing capacity, leveraging motor scale across products, improving process quality via backward integration, and adhering to stricter BEE/BIS regulations for sustainability and precision manufacturing.

Crompton aims to expand its Total Addressable Market (TAM) from ₹75k–80k Cr to ₹1.5–2 lakh Cr by building on core strengths in fans and residential pumps, growing in kitchen, lighting, and agri appliances, and entering new high-growth areas like solar pumps and rooftop systems to unlock future opportunities.

Crompton’s management maintains an optimistic outlook, backed by innovation, disciplined execution, and strategic supply chain investments. While short-term demand and weather pose risks, these are not structural. The greenfield capex is seen as ROCE accretive. Butterfly integration continues, and lighting turnaround is nearly done with new adjacency launches ahead.

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited operates through two segments: Electric Consumer Durables (ECD) and Lighting. It manufactures and distributes a range of consumer products, ranging from fans, pumps, and appliances in the ECD segment, and a full range of lighting products.
