Nifty 50 ended the day at 25,079.55, gaining 286.30 points or 1.15%. Bank Nifty rose by 675.40 points to close at 56,252.85, up 1.22%. Sensex finished strong at 82,408.17, climbing 1,046.30 points, marking a 1.29% increase. Gift Nifty is closed at 25,101.50 with 344.50 points of gaining.

President Donald Trump announced a two-week window for diplomatic efforts before making a decision on whether to strike Iran. Meanwhile, an Iran-backed militia in Iraq has threatened to target U.S. military bases in the region if the U.S. proceeds with military action.

Israel has issued a sharp warning to Iran, with Prime Minister Netanyahu stating that “no one in Iran should have immunity,” leaving open the possibility of targeting Iran’s supreme leader. This follows a statement by Israel’s defence minister declaring that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei must not be allowed to “continue to exist.”

India said it would evacuate Indian nationals from Israel under Operation Sindhu, while about 100 Indian students were evacuated from Iran earlier this week by road to Armenia.

Amit Mahajan of Paras Defence stated that the exposure to Israel is minimal, with less than 5% of exports and a stronger focus on technology transfer. He confirmed that there are currently no supply chain disruptions affecting component imports. 

Shipping Secretary T.K. Ramachandran stated that the department ensures vessel, container, and port availability. He noted the sector has become more resilient despite past shocks and is accustomed to higher costs due to rerouting via the Cape of Good Hope. 

Despite rising container costs, supply remains unaffected, and the industry has not raised any demands with the ministry so far.
