Account Deletion Policy

1. Overview

This Account Deletion Policy outlines how users of Trade Brains Technologies Pvt. Ltd. can request the deletion of their accounts. It ensures that all deletions are handled with strict adherence to privacy, data protection, and applicable legal requirements such as the IT Act, 2000, and, where relevant, GDPR.

2. User Rights

Users have the right to:

  • Request the deletion of their account at any time.
  • Request deletion of all associated personal data, subject to legal obligations.
  • Be informed of the consequences of account deletion, including loss of access to all services and data.

3. Scope of Deletion

Upon confirming a deletion request:

  • All personal data, including name, email, preferences, and saved data, will be removed from our active systems within 30 days.
  • Backup data may be retained for up to 90 days for security and compliance.
  • Financial or legally required records may be retained as mandated by law.

4. Limitations

  • Deletion may be delayed if the account is involved in any ongoing transaction or legal matter.
  • Anonymised or aggregated data that cannot be linked back to the user may be retained for research and analytics.

Account Deletion Steps (Android App)

Option 1: Through the Android App

  1. Open the Trade Brains Android app and log in to your account.
  2. Tap on the Profile icon to go to your profile.
  3. Click on Edit Profile.
  4. Scroll down and tap the Delete Account button.
  5. A confirmation message will appear. Confirm your choice to proceed.
  6. Your account will be deactivated immediately and scheduled for deletion within 30 days. A confirmation email will be sent to your registered address.

Option 2: Via Email

If you’re unable to access the app:

  1. Send an email to [email protected] with the subject: Account Deletion Request.
  2. Mention your registered email address and optionally the reason for deletion.
  3. Our team will verify your identity and initiate the deletion process within 7 business days.

Retention and Compliance

  • Transaction-related information will be stored for up to 8 years as per financial regulations.
  • Marketing-related data will be deleted or anonymised, and users will be unsubscribed from all future communications.

Data Protection

  • All account deletion processes follow our internal data security protocols.
  • Personal data is securely erased, and backups are overwritten periodically.
