The Indian benchmark equity indices opened and traded down for the 3rd consecutive session. Today’s market is dragged down by share prices of M&M, Titan and Grasim Industries. The NSE Nifty 50 opened 54.55 points or 0.22% down at 24,782.45, while the BSE Sensex opened 163.12 points, or 0.20% down at 81,299.97.
Global Markets
U.S. stocks climbed to record highs on Friday as investors awaited earnings from major tech firms. In a key global development, the U.S. and European Union reached an agreement to impose 15% tariffs on most EU exports, narrowly avoiding a trade war. The deal came just before a deadline for higher tariffs threatened by President Trump, who had initially proposed duties of up to 50%, later revised to 30%, prompting accelerated negotiations.
- The S&P 500 Index closed up 25.29 points, or 0.40%, at 6,388.64.
- The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 208.01 points, or 0.47%, at 44,901.92.
- The FTSE 100 closed down 18.06 points, or 0.20%, at 9,120.31.

Asian stocks faced downward pressure on Monday, led by declines in Japanese and Korean markets. Investors remained cautious ahead of a data-heavy week featuring key policy meetings by the Federal Reserve and the Bank of Japan.
