Synopsis:

During Friday’s trading session, shares of a leading player in power electronics and critical power infrastructure moved up by nearly 9.5 percent on BSE, after the company secured an order worth nearly Rs. 46 crores from Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) for setting up Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
At 12:56 p.m., the shares of Prostarm Info Systems Limited were trading in the green at Rs. 206 on BSE, up by around 9 percent, as against its previous closing price of Rs. 189.05, with a market cap of Rs. 1,213 crores.

As per the latest exchange filings, Prostarm Info Systems Limited has received a LOA from Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) for setting up a 150MW/300 MWh standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at the 400kV Doni Substation (at 220kV Voltage level) in Gadag District, Karnataka, with VGF (State Component) under Tariff Based Global Competitive Bidding and on Build Own Operate Basis.
Under the terms, the company will receive a rental of Rs. 2.54 lakh per MW per month, translating to an annual rental of Rs. 45.72 crore for the 150 MW/300 MWh system, over a period of 12 years. Additionally, VGF support will be provided at Rs. 27 lakh per MWh or 30 percent of the capital cost of the BESS, whichever is lower.

Prostarm Info reported a decline in its revenue from operations, showing a quarter-on-quarter decrease of around 33 percent from Rs. 82 crores in Q4 FY25 to Rs. 55 crores in Q1 FY26. Likewise, its net profit decreased during the same period from Rs. 7 crores to Rs. 2 crores, representing a fall of about 71 percent YoY.
As of June 2025, the company’s order book stands at Rs. 283.8 crore, with 84 percent contributed by government projects and the remaining 16 percent coming from private sector clients.
Prostarm Info Systems Limited is engaged in the design, manufacturing, assembly, sales, service, and supply of energy storage and power conditioning equipment (power solution products) in India.
The company’s product portfolio encompasses UPS systems, inverter systems (including lift and solar hybrid inverters), lithium-ion battery packs, servo-controlled voltage stabilisers (SCVS), isolation transformers, and allied products.
