Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited has now received certification for three additional products under the PLI-Auto scheme. The certifications cover two traction motors for electric three-wheelers and one traction motor for electric two-wheelers, reflecting the company’s expanding capabilities in the EV drivetrain space.
The certifications were formally approved by the Ministry of Heavy Industries on 4th August 2025, with the Testing Agency releasing them on 23rd August 2025 at 5 PM IST. The company officially downloaded the certificates on 25th August 2025.
This milestone enables SONACOMS to avail incentives under the Government’s PLI scheme, which aims to accelerate domestic manufacturing of advanced automotive technologies, reduce import dependence, and strengthen India’s EV supply chain. The company noted that this recognition reaffirms its commitment to innovation, localization, and supporting India’s transition towards cleaner mobility solutions.

Sales fell 4% to Rs. 854 Cr in Q1FY26 from Rs. 891 Cr in Q1FY25, EBITDA dropped 18% to Rs. 206 Cr from Rs. 249 Cr, and net profit slipped 7% to Rs. 122 Cr from. Rs. 142 Cr. EPS also contracted 17% to Rs. 2.01 from Rs. 2.42, reflecting margin pressures and weaker profitability compared to the previous periods.
