The shares of prominent motorcycle manufacturers in the automobile sector are in focus today after they reported a growth of up to 20% in sales and 140% in exports for January 2025. 

 Eicher Motors Ltd

The shares of Eicher Motors Ltd, with a market capitalization of Rs 150.7 Lakh Crores, reached their 52-week high this morning at Rs 5,575.50 per share and closed at Rs 5,485 per share, around 1.8% higher than its previous close.

Eicher Motors Ltd reported a 20% increase in total motorcycle sales, rising from 76,187 units in January 2024 to 91,132 units in January 2025. Sales of models with engines over 350cc grew by 44%, while those up to 350cc increased by 17%. International sales surged by 79%, from 5,631 to 10,080 units.

Eicher Motors Ltd reported a 4% increase in Revenue from Operations from Rs 4,155 Crores in Q2FY24 to Rs 4,263 Crores in Q2FY25. Its Net Profits grew by 8.3% from Rs 1,016 Crores to Rs 1,100 Crores during the same period.

Eicher Motors Limited (EML), the parent company of Royal Enfield, is a global leader in middleweight motorcycles, with production facilities in the UK and India. Royal Enfield, established in 1901, operates in over 60 countries. Eicher also partners with Volvo through Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), modernizing commercial vehicles in India and other markets.

Hero Motocorp Ltd

The shares of Hero Motocorp Ltd, with a market capitalization of Rs 84,947.80 Crores, reached an Intraday high of Rs 4,523 per share around Monday noon and closed at Rs 4,286 per share, around 2.6% down from its previous close.

Hero MotoCorp Ltd sold 442,873 units of Motorcycles and scooters in January 2025, marking a 2.14% growth from 433,598 units in January 2024. Domestic sales reached 412,378 units, while international sales grew by 141% to 30,495 units as against 12,644 units in January 2024. 

Hero Motocorp reported a 10% increase in Revenue from Operations from Rs 9,533 Crores in Q2FY24 to Rs 10,483 Crores in Q2FY25. Its Net Profits grew by 6% from Rs 1,007 Crores to Rs 1,066 Crores during the same period.
