With a market capitalization of Rs 2,64,198 crore, the shares of Avenue Supermarts are currently trading at Rs 4,060 per share, down by 26 percent from its 52-week high of Rs 5,484.85 per share. Over the past five years, the stock has delivered 69.28 percent.
On Tuesday, Avenue Supermarts, which is the holding organization for D-Mart, saw a block trade of 16 lakh shares at an average of Rs 4,000 per share, down 4.28 percent from the prior closing price. This was a 0.21 percent equity stake and was valued at around Rs 640 crore. However, the buyers and sellers of the transaction is not officially out yet.
Financial Highlights
Avenue Supermarts Ltd reported a consolidated revenue of Rs 59,358 crores in FY25, up by 16.88 percent from its FY24 revenue of Rs 50,789 crores. It posted a net profit of Rs 2,707 crores in FY25, up by 6.75 percent, from its FY24 net profit of Rs 2,536 crores.
The stock has delivered an ROE and ROCE of 13.49 percent and 18.02 percernt respectively and is currently trading at a P/E of 97.58x as copmpared to its industry average of 95.87x.
Avenue Supermarts Limited is one of India’s leading supermarket chains under the D-Mart brand. It offers many products the ones like food items (groceries, dairy, beverages, and fresh produce); non-food essentials (personal care and cleaning products); and general merchandise (garments, home appliances, and kitchen items). The company also operates an online and multi-channel retail platform called DMart Ready that offers groceries and other household products.
