As Stock markets around the world are going through a tough phase amid the global uncertainty and Tariff risks. Chinese stocks had outperformed the world markets from January to March of 2025. Increasing their demand and several brokerages upgrading Chinese Stocks, citing very cheap valuations.
Indian investors, too, started to look for diversification amid the severe market fall & continuous FII selling. Volume in the listed ETFs that track Chinese indices increased a lot as Chinese indices outperformed.
Out of the 13 Indian fund houses that have exposure to foreign equity markets. Nippon Life India MF and Mirae Asset Management India were the top buyers of foreign equities in March. These two fund houses are the only ones that have ETFs listed on Indian stock exchanges that invest in Chinese-listed companies.

Sensetime Group, in which there was an increase of 5.44 lakh shares from 33.43 lakh shares held in February of 2025. Indian Mutual funds now hold 38.87 lakh shares in the Company.
Industrial & Commercial Bank of China, in which there was an increase of 4.59 lakh shares from 41.48 lakh shares held in February of 2025. Indian Mutual funds now hold 46.08 lakh shares in the Company.
China Construction Bank, in which there was an increase of 3.01 lakh shares from 57.46 lakh shares held in February of 2025, Indian Mutual funds now hold 60.47 lakh shares in the Company.
Bank of China, in which there was an increase of 2.32 lakh shares from 44.41 lakh shares held in February of 2025, Indian Mutual funds now hold 46.74 lakh shares in the Company.
The Top Foreign Stocks sold by Indian Mutual Funds were U.S.-based Cognizant Tech, Philippines-based Ayala Land, WuXi Biologics China-based company listed in Cayman, U.S.-based Kenvue, and UK-based British American Tobacco.
The U.S.-based big tech stocks saw a mixed trend. A reduction in the exposure to the shares of Apple and Microsoft was seen, exposure was increased in the shares of Amazon, Facebook, and Nvidia.
