The new title will initially be a secondary name while seeking congressional approval to make it permanent. The change also allows the Secretary of Defense to be called the Secretary of War. The rebranding is expected to cost around a billion dollars due to required updates across agencies, emblems, uniforms, and more, stirring debate on the expense and focus of the Pentagon.
