The shares of Sugar company, specializing in manufacturing and selling sugar, industrial and potable alcohol, and generating and distributing electricity, jumped upto 13 percent upon declaring Q4 results with a 1,030 percent rise in Profit (QoQ).

With a market capitalization of Rs. 515.93 crores on Tuesday, the shares of Ugar Sugar Works Ltd jumped upto 12.9 percent, making a high of Rs. 48.89 per share compared to its previous closing price of Rs. 43.29 per share.

Ugar Sugar Works Ltd, engaged in manufacturing and selling sugar, industrial and potable alcohol, and generating and distributing electricity, has announced its Q4 results as follows.

Its Revenue from operations rose by 29.6 percent YoY from Rs. 404.3 Crores in Q4FY24 to Rs. 524.2 Crores in Q4FY25, and it rose by 90 percent QoQ from Rs. 274.9 Crores in Q3FY25 to Rs. 524.2 Crores in Q4FY25.

Its Net Profit YoY rose by 194 percent from Rs. 17.36 Crores in Q4FY24 to Rs. 51.08 Crores in Q4FY25, and it rose by 1,030 percent QoQ from Rs. 4.52 Crores in Q3FY25 to Rs. 51.08  Crores in Q4FY25. The earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter stood at Rs. 4.54, compared to Rs. 0.40 in the previous quarter.

The company has delivered strong financial performance, with an average ROE of 34.34 percent over the last 3 years. It has also recorded a healthy 3-year average revenue growth of 20.17 percent and impressive net profit growth of 82.15 percent, reflecting good operational efficiency and profitability.

Segment-wise Revenue & others

In the latest Q4, the company saw strong growth across key segments. Sugar revenue rose to Rs. 397.98 crore from Rs. 307.03 crore, while Industrial Alcohol nearly doubled to Rs. 276.88 crore from Rs. 129.48 crore. Co-generation revenue increased to Rs. 71.88 crore from Rs. 61.55 crore.

Furthermore, the Potable Alcohol showed a slight rise to Rs. 15.42 crore, and Unallocated revenue also grew to Rs. 16.97 crore from Rs. 14.11 crore, indicating overall good performance across business verticals.

Ugar Sugar Works Ltd, established in 1939, is a flagship company of the Shirgaokar Group, headquartered in Ugar Khurd, Karnataka. It is the largest single-location sugar manufacturer in Southern India, with a daily crushing capacity of approximately 18,000 tons of sugarcane across its Ugar and Jewargi plants. 

The company operates a 44 MW bagasse-based cogeneration power plant and two distilleries producing a range of alcoholic beverages. Additionally, Ugar Sugar Works manufactures ethanol, rectified spirit, malt spirit, and extra neutral alcohol. The company is also engaged in electricity generation and distribution, offering warehousing facilities, and exports its products globally.
