BharatNet project is funded by the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The project aims to bridge the ‘digital divide’ by delivering high-speed broadband connectivity with bandwidth of 100Mbps to all Gram Panchayats (GPs) and villages in India ensuring equitable access to online services for all, especially those in rural areas.
The project encompasses connecting all 640,000 Villages, Blocks, and Gram Panchayats across India with high-speed broadband internet connectivity.
The BharatNet Phase-3 Project is envisaged for the Development of the Middle Mile Network of BharatNet on Design Build Operate and Maintain (DBOM) Mode. BSNL has invited tenders, for the Design, Supply, Construction, Installation, Upgradation, Operation, and Maintenance of the Middle Mile Network of BharatNet in the 16 Packages/Circles.

ITI Ltd
ITI Limited is engaged in manufacturing, trading, and servicing of telecommunication equipment, and rendering other associated and ancillary services.
It manufactures telecom and electrical equipment, including electronic switching exchanges, transmission equipment, microelectronic telephone instruments Digital Mobile Radio systems, smart energy meters, bank automation products, and others.
With a market capitalization of Rs. 30,176 Crores, the shares of ITI Limited were trading at Rs. 312.45 per equity share, up 17.18 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 266.65.
ITI Limited with its consortium partner has emerged as the L1 Bidder of BharatNet Project for developing Middle Mile Network for a consideration of Rs. 3,022 Crores.
It involves the Design, Supply, Construction, Installation, Creation, Upgradation, Operation & Maintenance of the Middle Mile Network of BharatNet on the Design Build Operate, and Maintain (DBOM) Model in the states of Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands
Its Revenue from operations grew by 231 percent from Rs. 157 Crores in Q1FY24 to Rs. 520 Crores in Q1FY25, accompanied by losses of Rs. 103 Crores to Rs. 91 Crores.
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited is a Navratna central public sector enterprise, it is engaged in the business of implementing various types of Rail infrastructure projects like doubling, gauge conversion, new lines, railway electrification, major bridges, etc.
With a market capitalization of Rs. 93,523 Crores, the shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited were trading at Rs. 448.30 per equity share, down 6 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 477.55.
The consortium of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, HFCL Limited, and Aerial Telecom Solutions Pvt. Ltd. has emerged as the L1 bidder for some of the tenders worth Rs. 1,917.39 Crores being offered by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the Creation, Upgradation, and Operation & Maintenance Of Middle mile network of Bharat Net on Design Build Operate and Maintain (DBOM) Mode
Its Revenue from operations declined by 0.83 percent from Rs. 4,910 Crores in Q2FY24 to Rs. 4,869 Crores in Q2FY25, accompanied by profits of Rs. 370 Crores to Rs. 303 Crores.
Sterlite Technologies Ltd
Sterlite Technologies Limited is one of the largest Optical Fiber and Optical Fiber cable manufacturers in the country, engaged in providing end-to-end data network solutions to build data center networks, 5G Networks, and many more. It manufactures and supplies optic fiber, cables, and optical interconnect devices and provides other related services.
With a market capitalization of Rs. 6,155 Crores, the shares of Sterlite Technologies Limited were trading at Rs. 126.20 per equity share, up 3 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 122.10.
Sterlite Technologies Limited has emerged L1 bidder from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for the Creation, Upgradation, and Operation & Maintenance of the Middle mile network of Bharat Net on Design Build Operate and Maintenance for Package 13 Jammu & Kashmir for a consideration of Rs. 1,625.36 Crores.
Its Revenue from operations declined by 5.42 percent from Rs. 1,494 Crores in Q2FY24 to Rs. 1,413 Crores in Q2FY25, accompanied by a profit of Rs. 32 Crores to a loss of Rs. 14 Crores.
