Tata Consumer Products Limited (TCPL), a company that owns the brand Tata Starbucks, is a joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and TCPL which arrived in India in October 2012. The shares of the company were trading 4 percent higher at Rs 728 levels till the afternoon on Monday. 

The scrip gained ahead of the announcement of their quarterly numbers. The company is set to release its Q4 results on Tuesday, March 25th, 2023. The positive trend is seen on the stock as the markets expect the TCPL to post growing numbers.

Various brokerage firms which include names like Kotak Institutional Equities, Jefferies, ICICI Securities, and Motilal Oswal have estimated that their revenue will likely see a rise of 11% Year on Year and a marginal increase of 1% Quarter on Quarter. 

In the March quarter of 2022, the company reported a revenue from operations of Rs 3,175.41 Crore and in the December quarter, their numbers stood at Rs 3,474.55 Crore.

​The boost to revenue will come from its India foods business, which is expected to grow 30 percent YoY led by a price hike in the salt portfolio. In addition to this, the street expects its net profit to jump 11 percent YoY. In the March quarter of the previous year, their profits stood at Rs 289.23 Crore.

The company’s international business continues to languish. Analysts expect the international beverages segment to be muted due to the inflationary environment. International tea revenue could decline 2.3 percent year-on-year, which is an improvement compared to last quarter’s 5 percent fall, a report from money control stated.

ICICI Direct estimates 123 basis point gross margin contraction due to high tea procurement prices in international markets. Jefferies expects international business margins to improve sequentially but remain low YoY, the report highlighted.

Tata Consumer Products is a Tata Group Indian fast-moving consumer goods company. It stands as the world’s second-largest manufacturer and distributor of tea and a major producer of coffee.
