Shares of Anupam Rasayan India Limited gained nearly 5 percent today and currently trade at Rs 1,126. In the last 5 trading sessions, the stock has gained 10 percent ranging from Rs 1,022 to the current price levels. The scrip touched its 52-week high mark today at a price of Rs 1,132.70. 

One of the major reasons for the stock prices to surge today is the recent press release filed by the company over the BSE. The filing mentioned that the company has signed a Letter of Intent worth $ 46 Million, which equates to Rs 380 crores, with a leading American Multinational company. 

The basic purpose of the deal is to supply new-age specialty chemical advanced intermediate for a period of the next 5 years and the product will be manufactured in the company’s upcoming multipurpose manufacturing facilities. 

Established in 1984, Anupam Rasayan India Limited is one of the leading companies engaged in the custom synthesis and manufacturing of specialty chemicals in India. 

Business verticals of the company include life science-related specialty chemicals comprising products that are related to personal care, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and other specialty chemicals which comprise polymer additives and specialty pigments & dyes. The company has six manufacturing sites that are located in the state of Gujarat. 

Digging into the financials of the company, the revenues and net profits have moved in opposing directions with revenues, on one hand, marginally moving down from Rs 386 crores in Q2 to Rs 383 crores in Q3 and net profits, on the other hand, moved up from Rs 48 crores in Q2 to Rs 54 crores. 

The profitability metrics of the company such as the return on equity (ROE) and return on capital employed (ROCE) increased in recent financial years. ROE took a shift upwards from 6.58 percent in FY20-21 to 9.2 percent in FY21-22. Moreover, ROCE showed a consistent increase with the recent movement from 10 percent during FY20-21 to 11.24 percent in FY21-22. 

The debt-to-equity ratio, though within the desired levels, has increased from 0.25 in FY20-21 to 0.46 in FY21-22. 

As per the latest data pertaining to the shareholding pattern of the company in the March quarter, promoters of the company hold a 60.81 percent stake, whereas, FIIs, increased their stake from 8.19 percent in the December quarter to 8.52 percent stake during the March quarter.
