Stocks of L&T Technology Services Limited zoomed around 8 percent today and currently trade at Rs 3,723. In the last five trading sessions, the stock has provided returns of 10.4 percent to its stakeholders.
The company, yesterday, announced its results for the last quarter as well as for the financial year 2022-2023. Details of the same are discussed later on in the piece. The company’s Board also recommended a final dividend of Rs 30 per share which is subject to shareholder’s approval.
A few days back, the largest Insurance company in the country, LIC, announced that its shareholding in L&T Technology has increased marginally from 4.988 percent to 5.008 percent.
L&T Technology Services is engaged in the business of providing engineering and research services with regard to embedded systems and other engineering support services. Operating segments include Telecom and Hi-tech, Transportation, etc. Geographically, the company derives a majority of its revenue from the ‘North-American’ segment.
Digging into the financials of the company, it has, in contrast with the price movements shown by other components in the IT sector, has been able to showcase decent growth in the revenue generated which shifted from Rs 2,050 crores in Q3 to Rs 2,096 crores in Q4. Moreover, the net profit numbers, though a marginal shift, have increased from Rs 305 crores to Rs 311 crores during the same period.
Analyzing the above-mentioned metrics on a YoY basis, the revenues have grown from Rs 6,570 crores in FY21-22 to Rs 8,014 crores in FY22-23. Net profits, in congruence with the pattern shown, increased from Rs 960 crores to Rs 1,174 crores representing an increase of approximately 22 percent.
The profitability metrics have been able to provide growth with the return on equity (ROE) moving from 21.58 percent in FY20-21 to 25.32 percent in FY21-22. Moreover, the return on capital employed (ROCE) increased from 30.06 percent to 35.44 percent during the same time span.
As per the latest data available for the March quarter, promoters of the company hold a 73.85 percent stake and Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) hold a 6.69 stake in the company.
