Individual investors must consider the holdings of domestic institutional investors(DIIs) since they trade in large quantities on an ongoing basis, forcing the market to change in their direction. Furthermore, these domestic investors compensate for the withdrawal of funds by FIIs and function as a buffer against market volatility.

Here are three Small-Cap stocks with High DIIs holding as of June quarter FY 23-24

Multi Commodity Exchange Of India Ltd

The Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited is  India’s first listed exchange that enables online trading of commodities derivatives transactions and serves as a platform for price discovery and risk management. 

Shares of Multi Commodity Exchange Of India Ltd were trading at Rs 1,652.15, down 0.85 percent from the previous close price on Thursday. It is a small cap stock with a market capitalization of Rs 8,425 crores.

Domestic institutional investors hold 55.06 percent of the company as of the June quarter of FY 23-24, up from 48.6 percent in the June quarter of FY 22-23. Furthermore, as of the June quarter, foreign institutional investors owned 24.84 percent of the firm.

The company stock has gained 11.81 percent in six months and 20 percent in a Year. Company’s revenue increased by 40 percent year on year, from Rs 366 crore in FY 21-22 to Rs 513 crore in FY 22-23. During the same time period, Net Profit increased by 6 percent, rising from Rs 144 crore to Rs 153 crore.

Kalpataru Projects International Ltd.

Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd operates in the electricity transmission and distribution, oil and gas pipeline, railroads, and biomass-based power production industries.

Kalpataru Projects International shares were trading at Rs 623, up 3.52 percent from the previous close price on Thursday and it is a small cap stock with a market value of Rs 10,119 crores. 

Domestic institutional investors hold 42.41 percent of the company as of the June quarter of FY 23-24, up from 35.98 percent in the June quarter of FY 22-23.

In addition, Foreign institutional investors hold  8.16 percent  stake in the company as of June quarter The company stock has gained 11.34 percent in three months and 62.61 percent in a Year.

Kalpataru income climbed by 10 percent  year on year, rising from Rs 14,777 crore in FY 21-22 to Rs 16,361 crore in FY 22-23. During the same period, Net Profit fell by 21 percent, from Rs 554 crore to Rs 435 crore.

Equitas Small Finance Bank Ltd.

Equitas Small Finance Bank provides customers with a comprehensive range of banking products and services, including small business loans, housing loans, and agriculture loans to micro-entrepreneurs, as well as microfinance.

Equitas Small Finance Bank shares were trading at Rs 98.35, up 1.24 percent from the previous close price on Thursday, and it is a small cap stock with a market capitalization of Rs 10,978 crores. 

Domestic institutional investors hold 42.96 percent of the company as of the June quarter of FY 23-24, up from 15.59 percent in the June quarter of FY 22-23.

Furthermore, as of the June quarter, foreign institutional investors owned 21.45 percent of the firm. The company stock has gained 77.22 percent in six months and 107 percent in a Year.

The interest earned by Equitas Small Finance Bank grew by 20 percent year on year, from Rs 3,459 crore in FY 21-22 to Rs 4,161 crore in FY 22-23. Net Profit climbed by 104 percent within the same time, from Rs 281 crore to Rs 574 crore.
