Increasing Promoter stake is generally taken as a positive signal for the retail investors since it shows the confidence of the top management in future operations. 

Listed below are two stocks present in the ‘BSE Small-Cap’ Index wherein the company’s Promoters have increased their holdings up to 32 percent: 

Unichem Laboratories Limited 

With a market capitalization of Rs 2,977.11 crores, the stocks of Unichem Laboratories Limited closed at Rs 422.85 on Monday, gaining around 0.40 percent, post the bloodbath caused due to global tensions in the Indian equity markets, as compared to the previous closing levels of Rs 421.35. 

Having a glance at the latest shareholding pattern, the Promoters of the company have raised their stake quarterly by 19.28 percent, i.e., from 50.93 percent during the June 2023 quarter to 70.21 percent during the quarter ended September 2023. 

Coming onto the financials of the company, the basic business parameters such as the operating revenues have remained constant at Rs 400 crores during the past two financial quarters, i.e., the quarters ended March 2023 & June 2023. Moreover, the after-tax profits transitioned favourably from losses of Rs 44 crores to breakeven levels during the same time horizon. 

Camlin Fine Sciences Limited 

With a market capitalization of Rs 2,486.70 crores, the stocks of Camlin Fine Sciences Limited closed at Rs 148.50 on Monday, slipping around 7 percent as compared to the previous closing levels of Rs 159.60. 

Having a glance at the latest shareholding pattern, the Promoters of the company have raised their stake quarterly by 31.51 percent, i.e., from 16.52 percent during the June 2023 quarter to 48.03 percent during the quarter ended September 2023. 

Coming onto the financials of the company, the basic business parameters such as the operating revenues have remained constant at Rs 420 crores during the past two financial quarters, i.e., the quarters ended March 2023 & June 2023. Moreover, the after-tax profits rose four-fold from Rs 3 crores to Rs 12 crores during the same time horizon.
