The shares of this small-cap stock jumped up to 19 percent from intraday high after Quant Mutual Fund, a domestic institutional investor, bought 1.20 lakh equity shares of the company. 

The shares of Heubach Colorants India Ltd were trading at Rs 518.95 per share, increasing drastically by 12 percent as compared to the previous closing of Rs 468.45 apiece. The company has a market capitalization of Rs 1,206.83 crore. 

As of March 2024, Quant Mutual Fund holds 3.35 lakh equity shares which is equivalent to 1.45 percent of Heubach Colorants India Ltd, however, Quant Mutual Fund, a domestic institutional investor, bought an additional 1.20 lakh equity shares which is equivalent to 0.51 percent in the company via NSE deal, this transaction valued at Rs 5.44 crore. 

Examining the company’s financial performance, revenue jumped by 14 percent from Rs 179.65 crore in Q4FY23 to Rs 204.91 crore in Q4FY24 but during the same time frame, net profit plummeted by 37 percent from Rs 9.23 crore to Rs 5.84 crore. 

Examining the company’s crucial ratio, return on equity inclined from 4.43 percent in FY22-23 to 8.70 percent in FY23-24, while during the same time frame return on capital employed also inclined from 10.43 percent to 11.39 percent. In contrast, the net profit margin (NPM) stands at 5.20 percent in fiscal year 23-24. 

In April, Heubach Colorants India’s sibling company, Heubach GmbH, the world’s second-largest pigments business, filed for bankruptcy in Germany. Both enterprises are part of the Heubach Group. 

Examining the company’s shareholding pattern, the promoter owns 54.37 percent of the company, retail investors own 43.37 percent, domestic institutional investors own 1.92 percent at last Foreign institutional investors own 0.34 percent. 

Heubach Colorants India Limited produces and distributes pigments, preparations, and dyes for use in the coatings, plastic, printing, non-impact printing (NIP), and specific applications (home and personal care, agricultural, stationery, and textiles) industries. Its business categories include plastics and coatings, as well as specialty chemicals.
