The shares of this mid-cap company jumped 4.09 percent after the company came into a share purchase agreement to acquire 100 percent equity shares of Chalasani Hospitals Private Limited. 

Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Ltd has a market capitalization of Rs 17,164.76 crore, the shares were trading at Rs 2,153.25 per share, increasing around 2.08 percent as compared to the previous closing price of Rs 2,103.85 apiece. 

Matter Explanation:- 

The shares of the company have seen such a bullish movement after Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Ltd executed a share purchase agreement to acquire 100 percent equity shares of Chalasani Hospitals Private Limited. KIMS will invest up to Rs 75 Crore 

Moreover, this investment will help the company collect a larger share of the market. Besides, the hospital is situated in a prime locality, making it an attractive proposition. 

Dr. B. Bhaskara Rao, CMD, KIMS Hospitals said “This is our 2nd Hospital in Vishakapatnam (KIMS-ICON Hospitals was acquired in 2018). It underscores the tremendous opportunity we see in this city and we’ll continue to look for inorganic opportunities to build on our dominant position in Andhra Pradesh. With the addition of Queens’s NRI Hospital, we now have over 630 beds in Vishakapatnam to provide world-class healthcare facilities”. 

Financial Condition:- 

Looking forward into the company’s financial performance, revenue increased by 10 percent from Rs 576 crore in Q4FY23 to Rs 634 crore in Q4FY24. During the same period, net profit Plummet by 28 percent, from Rs 99 crore to Rs 71 crore.

The KIMS has a network of 12 hospitals and 3,975 beds spread across Telangana (Secunderabad, Kondapur, Gachibowli and Begumpet), Andhra Pradesh (Nellore, Rajahmundry, Srikakulam, Ongole, Vizag, Anantapur and Kurnool) and Maharashtra (Nagpur).
