The shares of this midcap company surged around 9 percent in Tuesday’s trading session after reporting an increase in net profit by 1,378 percent QoQ. On a YTD basis, the stock has delivered around 100 percent return to its shareholders.
Price Movement:
With a market capitalization of Rs. 19,220 crores, the shares of Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd started Tuesday’s trading session on a higher note at Rs. 792.65 compared to its previous close of Rs. 749.35. During the trading session, the shares hit a high of Rs. 824.85, gaining around 9 percent and are currently trading at Rs. 808 apiece.
What Happened:
Such a bullish movement in the share price was observed after the company announced its Q1FY25 results. Quarterly, the revenue increased by 26 percent from Rs. 471.75 crores during the March quarter to Rs. 592.91 crores in the June quarter. In addition, the net profits magnified by 1,378 percent from Rs. 3.28 crores to Rs. 48.48 crores during the same period.
Comparing the same metrics on a YoY basis, the revenue jumped by around 20 percent from Rs. 495.25 crores during Q1FY24 to Rs. 592.91 crores in Q1FY25. On the other hand, the net profits surged around 39 percent from Rs. 34.92 crores to Rs. 48.48 crores during the same timeframe.
Moreover, Earnings before interest and tax rose 68 per cent to Rs 78.4 crore from Rs 46.7 crore, while the EBIT margins improved to 13.2 per cent during the quarter under review from 9.4 per cent in the year-ago period.
As per the company’s filing, EBIT enhancement is attributed to an improved product mix, better order pricing, and increased operational efficiency.
Furthermore, the company stated that it also reported strong order momentum across all segments, with its order backlog reaching Rs. 1,294 crores, a 15.6 percent increase compared to June 2023.
Important Financial Ratios:
In terms of key financial metrics, the company reported a Return on Equity (RoE) of 58.08 percent and a return on capital employed (RoCE) of 33.80 percent for the period spanning FY23-24. Additionally, during the same period, the net profit margin stood at 7.79 percent.
Shareholding Pattern:
According to the latest shareholding pattern, the Promoters hold 75 percent of the shares, FIIs own 1.96 percent, DIIs have 2.76 percent, and Retail Investors hold the remaining 20.27 percent.
