The Port & Port Services sector is a critical component of global trade, facilitating the movement of goods across international borders. With over 800 active ports worldwide, the sector handles approximately 11 billion tons of cargo annually, including bulk commodities, containers, and oil, playing a pivotal role in global supply chains.
With a market capitalization of Rs 3.19 lakh crore, the shares of Adani Ports And Special Economic Zone Ltd were trading at Rs 1,480.95 per share, increasing around 0.66 percent as compared to the previous closing price of Rs 1,470.30 apiece.
Financial Performance:-
Looking forward to the company’s financial performance, revenue increased by 21 percent from Rs 6,248 crore in Q1FY24 to Rs 7,560 crore in Q1FY25. During the same period, net profit increased by 46 percent, from Rs 2,119 crore to Rs 3,107 crore.
Brokerage Recommendations:-
Jefferies, one of the well-known brokerages globally, gave a ‘Buy’ call on the port stock with a target price of Rs 1,910 apiece, indicating a potential upside of 29 percent from Thursday’s price of Rs 1,480.95 per share.

As per the brokerage, Adani Ports, as a market leader with a 27% share, is expected to see core port EBITDA growth of over 15% due to increasing volumes and operating leverage. Its higher target price is based on a 19x EV/EBITDA for September 2026, which is above the 10-year average of 14.8x, reflecting improved visibility on new port additions and robust volume growth.

APSEZ is India’s largest port developer and operator, with 13 domestic and two international ports and terminals (Haifa and Colombo), totaling 538 MMT of operating capacity.
