This Vijay Kedia’s auto ancillaries stock is engaged in manufacturing and selling camshaft castings and machined camshafts, supplying to the auto industry and railways, crashed 9 percent after the company reported a weak quarterly result with a negative net profit.

Stock Price Movement:

With a market capitalization of Rs. 2,172.80 crores, the share of Precision Camshafts Limited has reached an intraday low of Rs. 228.50 per equity share, down nearly around 8.64 percent from its previous day’s close price of Rs. 250.10. Since then, the stock has retreated and is currently trading at Rs. 231 per equity share. 

Q3 FY25 Result Walkthrough:

Coming into the quarterly results of Precision Camshafts Limited, the company’s consolidated revenue from operations decreased by 24.51 percent YOY, from Rs. 257.71 crore in Q3 FY24 to Rs. 194.55 crore in Q3 FY25, and dropped by 13.56 percent QoQ from Rs. 225.07 crore in Q2 FY25.

Precision Camshafts Limited’s consolidated net profit has turned negative, from Rs. 24.46 crore in Q3 FY24 to Rs. -6.36 crore in Q3 FY25.  As compared to Q3 FY25, the net profit of Rs. 8.40 crore in Q2 FY25 turned net loss.

The basic earnings per share turned positive into negative and stood at Rs -0.67 as against Rs 2.58 recorded in the same quarter in the previous year 2024.

Market Position:

Precision Camshafts Limited commands a significant market share in India, holding about 70 percent of the domestic market for camshafts and approximately 9 percent globally. 

Product and service offerings:

The company manufactures camshafts, balancer shafts, injector components, and other automotive parts for OEMs. It has expanded into electric mobility, providing driveline solutions for heavy vehicles. 

Additionally, the company offers end-to-end automotive solutions, invests in R&D, and collaborates with global partners to enhance manufacturing, innovation, and technology in the industry.

Shareholding pattern:

In December 2024, Precision Camshafts Limited had a majority stake held by the promoters at 65.37 percent, foreign institutional investors at 0.23 percent, domestic institutional investors at 0.02 percent, and the public at 34.37 percent.

In the public holding, Ace investor Vijay Kishanlal Kedia holds a 3.15 percent stake in Precision Camshafts Limited, valued at approx. Rs. 68 crores, consisting of  29,95,000 shares.
