Dividend-paying stocks: Dividends form a good amount of passive income for many people. A few Indian companies have released details related to the dividends that they are about to pay.
There are four dates that are associated with dividends:
- Announcement date: The day on which a company announces its intention to pay dividends.
- Record date: The day on which the company determines which shareholders are eligible to receive dividends.
- Ex-dividend date or ex-date: It is the date by which investors can buy shares of a particular company to earn the next dividend payment.
- Payment date: The date on which a company distributes dividends.
