The shares of this Dolly Khanna stock engaged in manufacturing alcoholic beverages, and the sale of Beer and Indian Made Foreign Liquor surged upto 3 percent following plans to set up a new facility in Uttar Pradesh worth Rs. 600 crore.

Share Price Movement 

The share price of Som Distilleries & Breweries Ltd was up 2.51 percent in the early trade to touch a day’s high of Rs. 114.25. The stock reiterated from the day’s high and was trading at Rs. 107.85, which is 3.23 percent lower than the previous close of Rs. 111.45 per share. 

However, the shares have delivered a return of 0.4 percent and outperformed the Nifty Index in the past year.

What Happened 

The company’s stock was in focus after its subsidiary, Woodpecker Greenagri Nutrients Private Limited, announced plans to set up a greenfield project that includes a Brewery, Distillery, and other manufacturing facilities at Khimsepur District, Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, at an approx. cost of Rs. 600 crores.

The 40-acre land parcel for the expansion has been allotted by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), and plans to start construction after receiving the necessary regulatory approvals from the U.P. Government.

Financials

According to its recent filing, In Q3FY25, Som Distilleries & Breweries Ltd reported a 13.15 percent increase in revenue to Rs. 301 crore, compared to Rs. 266 crore in Q3FY24. Furthermore, quarterly, the revenue saw an increase of 3.79 percent from Rs. 290 crore in Q2FY25. 

In the same period, the company reported an increase in net profit of 22.22 percent to Rs.22 crore in Q3FY25, up from Rs.18 crore in Q3FY24 and up 15.78 percent from Rs. 19 crore in Q2FY25. 

Revenue Segment & Volume Sold

The company has recognised revenues from the business of manufacturing alcoholic beverages as of Q3FY25. The Power Cool Brand sold 23.4 lakh cases, followed by Hunter Brand with 9.5 lakh cases and Black Fort Brand with 3.7 lakh cases for Q3FY25.

Ace Investor Stake

Dolly Khanna, an ace investor, holds around 1.39 percent stake in the company as of December 2024 quarter, and she reduced stake from 1.45 percent in September 2024 quarter.
