The shares of Infrastructure developer engaged in the road and water sectors fell as much as 12% in today’s morning session after reporting disappointing Net profits for this quarter.

Share Price Movement

The shares of Welspun Enterprises Ltd, with a market capitalization of Rs 7,805 Crores, fell as much as 12% marking an Intraday Low at Rs 528 per share in Tuesday’s morning session. As of noon, its shares bounced back to Rs 570 per share around 5% lower than yesterday’s close of Rs 601. 

The shares of Welspun Enterprises generated a return of 56% for the past 1 year and 560% for the past 5 years respectively.

Q3FY25 Results

The company’s Revenue from Operations grew by 23% from Rs 707 Crores in Q3FY24 to Rs 867 Crores in Q3FY25, On a quarterly basis, it rose 10% from Rs 788 Crores in Q2FY25. 

However, its Net Profits declined by around 4%, from Rs 80 Crores in Q3FY24 to Rs 77 Crores in Q3FY25, but it rose 24% on a quarterly basis, from Rs 62 Crores in Q2FY25. 

The Company’s EBITDA increased by 4% YoY, from Rs 174 Crores in Q3FY24 to Rs 180 Crores in Q3FY25, and its EBITDA margin stood at 19.6% for this quarter. 

The company’s consolidated order book stood at Rs 14,500 Crores as of Q3FY25. 

Segment Revenue and Break-up

Revenue from Transport segment declined by 6%, from Rs 347 Crores in Q3FY24 to Rs 328 Crores in Q3FY25, while Revenue from water segment rose 41% YoY from Rs 259 Crores to Rs 365 Crores, and Revenue from Tunneling and Rehabilitation segment increased by 73% YoY from Rs 100 Crores to 174 Crores over the same period.

Water contributes 64% to the company’s portfolio, Tunnelling attributes to 14%, Road attributing to 12%, and Welspun Michigan Engineers Ltd attributing to 10% of the portfolio.

Major Projects

The company completed the Delhi–Meerut Expressway ahead of schedule and is building the widest extradosed bridge on the Ganga. They are also executing major water projects, including a rural supply initiative, India’s first multi-storey wastewater plant, and one of the world’s largest water treatment plants in Mumbai.
