Shares of this small-cap stock jumped 5 percent after announcing results for Q1FY23-24. In the past six months, the scrip has zoomed around 18 percent from Rs 591.20 to the current price level.
The stocks of Nazara Technologies Limited started their trading session today at Rs 684 and currently trade at Rs 696, a gain of around 5 percent as compared to the previous closing levels of Rs 664.95 apiece. The company has a market capitalization of Rs 4,600 crores.
Ace investor Ms. Rekha Jhunjhunwala has invested in the gaming company, and, as per the June 2023 quarter, she holds 65,88,620 equity shares equating to a 9.96 percent stake in the same. Currently, the holding value of her investments stands at around Rs 460 crores.
The surge in the company’s stock prices are observed after it announced the financial results for the quarter ending June 2023. On a sequential basis, the prime operational indicators such as the operating revenues as well as after-tax profits showed opposing movements.
The operating revenues, on one hand, moved down from Rs 289 crores during Q4FY22-23 to Rs 255 crores during Q1FY23-24, and, the after-tax profits took a shift from Rs 12 crores to Rs 21 crores indicating a gain of approximately 75 percent.
Comparing Q1FY22-23 and Q1FY23-24, the operating revenues rose from Rs 223 crores to Rs 255 crores, and, the net profits showcased a growth upwards from Rs 16 crores to Rs 21 crores.
Historically, the company has witnessed growth in basic profitability ratios such as the return on equity (RoE) as well as the return on capital employed (RoCE). The former moved up from 2.72 percent during FY21-22 to 3.56 percent during FY22-23, and, the latter took a shift from 5.74 percent to 6.83 percent keeping the timeframe the same.
Nazara Technologies Limited is a mobile game company based in India with a wide range of business segments including gamified early learning, Telco subscription, and Real money gaming. The company generates a majority of its revenue from the ‘Asia-Pacific’ region.
