This Mahindra Group stock which deals in the business of automobiles with a presence across 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, CVs, PVs, tractors, and earthmovers, is in focus after the company announced a strategic partnership for autonomous systems & CUAS technology.

Stock Price Movement

With a market capitalization of Rs 3,50,022.28 crore, on Thursday, the shares of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd touched a day’s high of Rs. 2,820.90 which is 2.30 percent higher than the previous closing price of Rs. 2,757.30 apiece. The stock reiterated to Rs. 2,810 from the day’s high and was up by 1.91 percent. 

This stock has delivered around 52 percent return in the past year and thus outperformed the Nifty Index in the same period. 

What happened

The company’s stock was in focus after they announced a strategic partnership with Anduril Industries, an American Technology company aimed to co-develop and co-produce state-of-the-art Autonomous Maritime Systems, advanced AI-enabled Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) and innovative command and control (C2) software. This collaboration is focused on maritime operations.

This partnership is focused on modular Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) development on deploying Security, Surveillance, Survey, and Reconnaissance missions while improving underwater operational capabilities. This is also targeted towards CUAS technology capable to detect and neutralise drone threats while providing protection against unmanned aerial systems.

Further, the collaboration is highlighted on developing a sensor fusion platform while integrating multiple sensor technologies into a flexible, open AI architecture and streamlining integration processes.

This collaboration combines our deep engineering expertise with Anduril’s innovative solutions to deliver cutting-edge capabilities that enhance security and address emerging threats.”

Further, the SVP (Global Defence) of Anduril Industries said “Global security forces face a rapidly evolving set of threats from both emerging unmanned systems and legacy manned platforms, and Autonomy is key to maintaining a credible protection. Anduril is thrilled to announce our partnership with Mahindra, we believe that our two companies together are well poised to bring cutting-edge autonomy-enabled capabilities to the Indian market.”

Financial performance

The company’s operational revenue surged 17.48 percent, increasing from Rs. 35,299 crore in Q3FY24 to Rs. 41,470 crore in Q3FY25. Further, the net profit rose by 21.73 percent from Rs. 2,977 crore to Rs. 3,624 crore in the same period.

Business Segments

In Q3FY25, Mahindra & Mahindra’s revenue consists of Automotive which contributes around 54.99 percent, followed by 22.42 percent from Farm Equipment, 11.19 percent from financial services, and the remaining 11.4 percent from Industrial business and consumer services.

Operating profit is earned through Automotive, which contributes nearly half of the bottom line, followed by Farm equipment, Financial Services, and Industrial business and consumer services as of Q3FY25.
