On Tuesday, shares of one of the leading alcoholic beverage producers gained around 4 percent to Rs 321.75 per share after the company introduced a new beer in the Karnataka Market.
At 3:15 p.m., Som Distilleries and Breweries Ltd shares were trading at Rs 313.50 a share, up Rs 4.20 or 1.36 percent from the previous close price on the Exchange, and the company has a market capitalization of Rs 2,428 crores.
As per the company’s exchange filing, The company has introduced a new strong beer “Legend” in the state of Karnataka. The introduction of this exceptional, high-alcohol beer is a strategic move aimed at consolidating the company’s market share in Karnataka.
In the most recent fiscal year, the company reported a return on equity of 16.06 percent and a return on capital employed of 14.53 percent.
The Ace investor Dolly Khanna holds 8,73,429 shares in the company as of the September 2023 quarter, equivalent to 1.13 percent.
The company’s stock has delivered a return of 82 percent in six months and 189 percent over a year. An investment of Rs. 1 lakh in the company would be worth Rs. 2.89 lakhs in a year.
Company revenue increased 69 percent year on year, from Rs 146 crores in Q1FY23 to Rs 247 crores in Q1FY24. During the same time period, Net Profit increased by 75 percent, from Rs 8 crores to Rs 14 crores.
As per the recent shareholding pattern, the company’s promoters hold a 34.5 percent stake, while retail investors hold a 64.17 percent stake in the company.
