IRFC LTD
The Indian Railways’ designated financial division is called the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC). The firm was established in December 1986 to raise money from domestic and international markets in order to fulfil the majority of Indian Railways’ need for extra-budgetary resources.
The company has a market valuation of Rs. 65,734 Cr., making it a large-cap. On Tuesday, shares of the company closed 1.01% up at Rs. 50.25. The stock touched a new 52-week high of Rs. 51.25 on the same day. Over the course of a year, the stock generated 135% returns for investors (i.e., an investment of Rs. 1 lakh made a year ago would now be worth 2.35 lakh).
The company’s revenue rose by 17.70% from Rs. 20,298.27 Cr in FY22 to Rs. 23,891.27 Cr in FY23. Profit after tax increased by 4.05% from Rs. 6.089.84 Cr in FY22 to Rs. 6,337.01 Cr in FY23. As of FY23, the company’s total AUM (Asset Under Management) is Rs.4,66,938.42 Cr. The EPS of the company is 4.85.
As of June 2023, Promoters own 86.36%, FIIs own 1.13%, DIIs own 2.03%, and Retail & others own a 10.48% stake in this company.
SJVN LTD
An Indian public sector company called SJVN, formerly known as Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, generates and transports hydroelectric power. It was established in 1988 as a joint venture between the governments of India and Himachal Pradesh under the name Nathpa Jhakri Power Corporation.
It’s a mid-cap company with a market capitalisation of Rs. 21,967 Cr. The company shares delivered 100% ~ returns to the investors within one year (Meaning an investment of Rs. 1 lakh made a year ago would now be worth 2 lakh). On Tuesday shares of the company closed 1.06 down at Rs. 55.95.
Total revenue increased by 24.13% from Rs. 2,647 Cr in FY22 to Rs. 3,286.75 Cr in FY23. Net profit raised by 37.03% from Rs. 989.80 Cr in FY22 to RS. 1359.30 Cr in FY23. The EPS of the company is 3.49.
Promoters owned 86.77% of the company as of June 2023, followed by DIIs with 4.34%, FIIs with 1.39%, and Retail & others with 7.50%.
