Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has disclosed his exposure to the Indian equity market in a recent affidavit he filed ahead of the Lok Sabha election. He owns 25 stocks worth Rs 4.33 crore and 7 mutual funds worth Rs 3.81 crore total combined together worth over Rs 8 crore. The total valuation, stocks, and mutual funds combined, worth Rs 8.14 crore is until March 15, 2024.
In 2019, it appeared that Rahul Gandhi adopted a relatively conservative approach to his investments. He possessed mutual funds valued at Rs 5.19 crore, yet did not engage in direct stock market investments.
In contrast, during the 2014 general elections, his mutual fund holdings were valued at less than Rs 1 crore, with a net asset value of Rs 81.28 lakh. Similar to 2019, he did not have any direct investments in the stock market at that time either.
In the forthcoming general elections, Rahul Gandhi currently holds the position of Member of Parliament for Kerala’s Wayanad constituency. He has formally submitted his nomination for the same Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Additionally, according to the affidavit, Gandhi has diversified his investment portfolio significantly, encompassing stocks from various sectors such as consumer staples, information technology, healthcare, industrials, and financials. However, the majority of his investments are in blue-chip companies, with almost half, or 11 stocks, being part of the benchmark Nifty50 index.
Rahul Gandhi’s stock exposure is more towards large-cap stocks of the Indian equity market. Below are the stocks in Rahul Gandhi’s portfolio, categorized by their market capitalization into large, small, and mid-cap segments.
