The shares of one of the largest optic fiber network providers gained up to 5 percent after the company received a work order for design, development, operation, and maintenance worth Rs 139.73 crore. 

With a market capitalization of Rs 12,040.00 crore, the shares of Railtel Corporation of India Ltd were trading at Rs 375.35 per share, increasing around 2.37 percent as compared to the previous closing of Rs 366.65 apiece. 

According to the company filing, Railtel Corporation of India Ltd has received the work order for design, development, operation, and maintenance from Prasar Bharati Broadcasting Corporation of India worth Rs 139.73 crore. The work order should be finished by December 11, 2024. 

Looking into Railtel Corporation of India Ltd’s financials, the revenue increased by 47 percent, from Rs 454 crore in Q3FY23 to Rs 668 crore in Q3FY24. During the same period, net profit increased by 93 percent from Rs 32 crore to Rs 62 crore. 

As of FY22-23, The firm operates a DWDM network across India with over 200 OADM (Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer) nodes. The network supports many services, including 10G, 100G, and 200 G. The network spans key cities in India and offers high availability of services. 

RailTel’s extensive market network adds significant value to its services for clients. RailTel plans to update its backbone network, CNoC, access network, and 100G to 800G network at important locations. This will involve acquiring routers, power plants, charges, and advanced technologies. 

Railtel installs video surveillance systems at more than 5000 rail stops. The company has completed work at 308 stations and is establishing centralized monitoring rooms at Indian Railways’ divisional and zonal offices. 

The stock gained 125.89 percent in six months and 239.56 percent in a year. Investing Rs 1 lakh in the organization produces Rs 3.39 lakh per year. 

RailTel Corporation of India Limited is a neutral telecom infrastructure provider established in India. It owns a Pan-India optic fiber network on a railway track’s right of way (ROW). Telecom Services and Project Work Services are two of the company’s business segments.
