Domestic benchmark indices closed in the green on November 15. The BSE Sensex increased 3.28 percent and ended the first half of November at 65675.93 Similarly, the NSE Nifty 50 Jumped 3.6 percent, to 19,443.55.
On a year-to-date basis Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPI) have invested over Rs. 1,42,829 crores in the Indian stock market, Foreign Portfolio Investors Invested almost Rs. 9,818 Crores in the first half of November.
The Automobile and Auto Components sector had the largest outflow of FPI funds in the first half of November 2023 at Rs. 1,722 Crores, followed by the Information Technology sector which saw an outflow of Rs. 1,179 Crores, the Power sector saw an outflow of Rs. 1,412 Crores.
After US consumer price index (CPI)–based inflation eased in October and US 10-year bond yields significantly declined to 4.45 percent, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) ended their selling streak on November 15.
According to Santosh Meena, Head of Research at Swastika Investment Ltd., “FIIs observed some buying activity in recent days, and there is potential for an acceleration in their buying momentum in the face of falling US bond yields and the dollar index.”
